This is Curtis your Autel diagnostic consulting here with another im608 training. Today I am going to cover how to do an all key slot scenario on a 2010 Jeep Cherokee. But there is a slight catch! This vehicle has an underlying condition that will not allow the remotes to work. By the of this presentation, you will learn the following

Another great video from Curtis. I alway learn as I am new to Auto Locksmithing. What I realised since I have started doing this job (about 9 months ago) we must learn not only how to program keys but also how the key/remote systems work on each and every car. By the way, I own the IM508. There are times when you program a key and the remote does not work from a distance but it works when you are by the car. The first thing you'll check is the key fob battery and when you find out that the battery is good, then you must be able to investigate further. I know this is an electricians job but it looks bad when you tell the customer that the vehicle has a problem and you cannot fix it. So now, I have started to learn how the electrical systems work as well. This is a must for all of us locksmiths. I just thought to share my thought. Thanks Curtis for sharing your knowledge. For remote start to work sometimes you have to drive the car for a few miles over 30mph and then try to remote start it should work.

The one I'm working on is a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with a Push Start All keys lost it won't go into ACC to read the Ecm.

I have a question,if the im508 plus the xp400 pro is meant to give you the same immo capabilities as the im608,why do i often see the im608 being used with the j2534?What part does the j2534 play in the key programming?I never see anyone use the j2534 with the im508!

So I got the im608 which is a great tool BUT can not pull pin on 2000 to 2004 cherokee need to pay someone to get the pin by vin number. Then a 2009 saab 9-3 sport add key with a working key no good even though it says it can over obd2, you can NOT get them pin to add key (good luck on getting the pin for saab ) 2012 Subaru remote programming failed add key ok no remote add even with remote pin code. So any suggestions on these cases. Thank you

What I don't understand is this scenario is how can you be turning the switch on and off if all keys are lost? Did you just decide to choose the ALL KEYS LOST selection to erase the current keys and re program for a new key? If you really had no key to start with wouldn't the procedure be different than the one you went through? I do appreciate the diagnostic function of the 608. Could you have done the same with a 508?

HI Cameron. Ill try to explain the scenario. The customer lost all of her keys. My client " The locksmith" purchased a new key . After we scanned the vehicle we clicked " all keys lost " to start the key learning sequence. This sequenced erased the previous keys that was stored and added they need key that my client purchased. The car started but the remote functions did not work. Thats when I went to the diagnostic menu and when to "active test" . This woke up the unit and the remotes started to work. does this make sense? PS you can use the im508 for this process

Hi, is there benefit of having the APB112 and G-box2 with the xp400 pro ? Or it was something for the xp400 standard ?

Hello, You will need those tools to do all key lost scenarios etc. Those accessories solve different problems unrelated to the xp400 and the xp400 pro.

Hi bro can you help me solve some problem, I was trying to program smart key to 2015 Jeep Cherokee all key lost, but I was not able to do the job done the central lock system is not working for car lock and unlock is not working I cut the emergency key to turn the drive door to open the central lock but it doesn't open and the alarm of the car is not off

Hi, I’ve got a stupid question, if all keys lost, how I’m going to switch the ignition on to connect the tool ?

When you purchase the replacement keys you can put the ignition in position 1. Other times you may have to turn on the hazard light depending on the vehicle.
