“Aww, that’s a cute intro”, yeah I would have never guessed that the company literally named *Happyface* would make a group so horror and rock themed, that’s gotta be some kind of irony.

Not a lot of irony when you consider how the group got started. The original incarnation of Dreamcatcher was a 5 member group called Minx. Their concept was very different from what it is now. It was cute, but no quite 'cutesy'. I think the term is teen crush, something between the girly and fluffy 'cutesy' concept and girl crush. Their videos are on KZbin if you want to check them out. They put out a couple decent songs, but their timing really, REALLY sucked. While they were trying to break into the market with their somewhat stereotypical mid 2000's girl group group, a couple of the Big 3 were debuting their new girl groups too, which were Twice and Red Velvet. Seeing that there was no way that Minx could compete with these 2 power house groups, backed up by 2 of the 3 biggest companies in kpop, Happyface decided to throw in the towel and they scrapped Mix. Fortunately for us they didn't completely give up, though. Instead of completely disbanding the group, they went for a complete re-branding. Everything changed except for the 5 original members. They added 2 members (Gahyeon and Handong), completely changed their style of music, their core concept, pretty much everything. And thus the Dreamcatcher we all know and love was born. So, yeah, while it is ironic that a group like Dreamcatcher was created by a company called Happyface, it wasn't intended to be ironic. It just kind if evolved that way.

Video meaning: The guy checks into room 808. From the start, it is known that he is a paranormal investigator and that he is investigating the haunted castle, where the girls are bound to (JIU closed the gates to the mansion in the Fly High video). As he struggles to get into the door, the lights flicker, and we see JIU standing in the hallway, holding a doll dressed in red. He sees her but when he directs his camera to her, she cannot be seen in the camera view.Once he does get into his innocent looking room, he takes out his files that he had compiled on the girls and started to mark down that he saw JIU. However, his pencil broke and had a bloody nose. No doubt that the girls caused this time. He decides to take a rest, as a result. The picture he had acquired is the same as the girls shown in Fly High and You & I, confirming that they are dead and that they have been dead for a very long time. I also remembered that they wore their kimonos in the reverse order, which is commonly associated with the dead. Let The Scaring Begin… During his rest, he is hypnotized by SUA. (The way she swung the pendant was like how she rang the bell in Fly High). He wakes up knowing she is there but after turning back, she is no longer there. The hypnosis seems to be the start of something as he starts seeing that his reflection is delayed, and he starts getting nightmares when he sleeps.We are then shown a ritual scene, where Dami is lying on the ground and all the members are surrounding her. One of the items around her, of interest, is the red doll, which JIU was holding onto (SUA is also in the middle). Their plan, whatever it is at this stage is taking into effect. As mentioned previously, JIU was leader after she became possessed/evil in You & I. The use of her doll in this ritual might be a transfer of leadership to another member. This will be important in the next video.Each member takes a turn at tormenting the guy. Siyeon holds the door in place, Gahyeon throws books onto the ground. JIU floats in the hallway. YH changes all the room numbers to room 808, confusing him in a later scene. The Ending… At the bridge of the song, we see him inspecting the surveillance system, which I assumed he installed himself. He sees confronting images of himself crawling away from something or someone. It isn’t shown on camera, but we see a flashback to JIU walking towards him. This convinces him that enough is enough, and he brings an axe to his room. He starts swinging the axe, the main goal being to break down the door and hotel, one step at a time.However, when he steps back into the room, we do not see his room. Instead, we see a warm coloured room, shown as one of the rooms the girls used to play in. On the wall is that old picture of the group, enlarged. He smiles in the room, which I am not sure why he does so.

Just in case, for all of your future DC videos, please make sure you are either on the Happyface entertainment channel (like this time). I can promise you that there are no jumpscares in any Dreamcatcher video. It can get scary, yes, but it's not too bad. 😊 I think watching the videos in the order of release is the right way, you will go through all the questioning older InSomnias did as well. 😉

You guys are not stupid is just that we had years to analyze and break down everything 😂😂 I actually love watching you theorize! I don't know if I said this before but you should totally watch some live performances (for a video or in your own time) their choreographies are insane and their mics are always on! Since you like BOCA, I recommend the 09/06 Inkigayo stage, you can hear Dami clapping and even the metal thingies in their outfits making noise when they dance, THAT'S how much the mics where on. I'm looking forward to the next video!

MINX was girly group for the 2014 cutie concept and that lyrics kinda shows how DREAMCATCHER is put inside the box like trapped with the cutie concept. Starting with Chase Me is the right choice bc you can imagine how puzzled people were about this new group with this new concept back then + you can see how they evolved much better. Starting with Fly High doesn't have that impact imo (it is more traditional/less rock as it's supposed to be their "happy" times). At the end here he is smiling bc he found the original picture (s). the photos he had were copies from the investigation file so this means he's in the right place and being haunted by those girls in the pic. Remember that the only one he sees is Jiu bc she's the only one to confront him. also, photos are pretty relevant in the series (and that photo in particular) along with mirrors and a book. You'll see :)

inksound Siyeon in You And I seems the catalyst, her standing with Gahyeon and Handong being all witch-ery while Yoohyeon is running scared and JiU is trying to save her there is also some stuff in fly high i find suspicious, with siyeon’s movements and the way Gahyeon is taken first (as opposed to Yoohyeon being taken first) I think Siyeon is the mastermind, Gahyeon and Handong her helpers SuA is just chaotic, she either helps jiu or helps the curse while Jiu and Dami seem to be the only one actively trying to fix things (and yoohyeon is just running around scared) so i see yoohyeon as the true victim and siyeon as the puppet master

With Dreamcatcher there's more than enough content to react to, which is of course an excellent excuse to get to know them better. You may start with that ultimate Dreamcatcher guide + dodging disbandment and other extreme sports videos. I recommend that to really "get that" Deukae true power; is to follow every MV's reaction up with each's live stage + dance practice vids. Understandably this is pretty hard to do in a single reaction video so it's up to you girls how you wanna format it. A single video however would streamline things easily. Oh and my only other special request; when you get to "You and I", please immediately also take a look at their live in KCON 2018 LA video too. Then maybe "take a break" in between with their S + J-sides, "casual + for fans contents" = TV/radio appearances, Deukae's own messy, chaotic and funny vlive posts etc. They're even that talented and did a k-drama parody as well. Don't forget that there's also their "covers" dance practices because hey they didn't get their awesome live stage cred ootb, them queens work their asses off for it. You girls reacted to both BOCA and Scream before, they're FAR FAR deadlier on stage for those 2 songs e.g

I always think it's best to _re_ watch them in story order later. Especially since many people can't even agree what the story order _is;_ if they go by one comment that suggests one order, they're gonna drive fans mental who think it's a different one. Does You & I come before Chase Me, as some people think? Is Breaking Out supposed to be part of the series? Nah, watch in release order, _then_ figure out what order you think the story follows.

Just a minor correction, the girls don't necessarily represent phobias, but nightmares about those things, so for instance Dami isn't a unnecessary fear of pain, but represents nightmares of pain and scarring (like when they ripped the teddy's eyes out and his disappeared). And Gahyeon represents nightmares about falling, not paralysis...
