Not true, GunGirl Z is just another universe, that universe was destroyed at the end of the game by god Kiana. Just MiHoyo loves to reuse their characters a lot and they did a new entire different universe for Honkai Impact 3rd. Actually the "3rd" has a meaning in the lore and you can read the mangas about the first honkai impact and the second honkai impact (where cecilia, Kiana's mom, Died fighting against the 2nd Hercher of the new world: Sirin) and, our adventures in this game are the Third Honkai Impact. The first legit mihoyo's game was Fly Me To the Moon, where we met Kiana Kaslana (yes, another Kiana) in a different universe where she wants to reach to the moon using her magical powers. All 3 games (Fly Me To The moon, Gun Girl Z and Honkai Impact 3rd) are different universes that only share the name of the characters.
