​@@lucasclement9368actually i think its the opposite. We see squidward hearing the noises coming from the boxes from his perspective, how would he hear spongebob and Patrick imagination ? It implies squidward was using his imagination to hear those sounds while spongebob and Patrick were playing, and he just wasn't aware of what was happening cause he never spends time being imaginative

The fun part is, the box episode implies that it's actually squidward who infact has the most imagination, spongebob and patrick say there's no noises or anything because squidward imagined it, at the end of the episode spongebob even comments about him doing it on his own

If you think about it the Nasty Patty was kinda dark ep . Like Krabs and Spongebob legit almost bury a man alive and Krabs also tries to bribe the cops. Never really thought about it much as a kid. Like if this ep aired in today's day and age then it would immediately be taken down.

Yeah it was quite grim, more as a dark comedy episode than anything. Doesn’t help it feels like it was influenced by the 1997 film “I Know What You Did Last Summer” which had a similar premise .

Low key, the episode, ‘idiot box’ got me interested in Radio shows as a kid, as well as interested in DnD. I think every scene they have showing SpongeBob and Patrick having adventures in that box is a great advertisement for dnd and radio shows.

I like how the imagination episode implies squiedward couldnt get the box to work cause he lacks imagination, but i just realized the fact squidward could hear the noises coning from the box shows he wasusing his imagination, he probably just never is inaginative so he didnt know what happened. Patrick even said "i could only hear the sound of our laughter" implying squidwards imagination was running wild and he was hearing things

No, Nasty Patty wasn't banned. I saw it as a teenager. It was one of my favorite SpongeBob episodes (including Idiot Box). I wasn't even disturbed by it.
