I have read somewhere that this song was inspired by the lead singers sister in law who died of cancer

It’s time, radioactive, believer, on top of the world, natural, whatever it takes, shots, bones, burn out, Tokyo, hear me, demons, dream, dull knives, bad liar, the fall, next to me, thunder, Amsterdam, walking the wire, Polaroid. Take your pick hahaha

He lost his sister to cancer and wrote this song for her, I love Dan and imagine dragons been following them since I was 12 I am now 22 hahah 10 whole years being in love with this man. every song he brings out I just feel the connection to my soul he literally puts his whole life into his music. He’s gone through a lot in his life. Such a beautiful man that deserves so much more then what he’s been dealt in life.

I lost my mom to cancer in 2012. She was 59 and my son had just turned 2. Some days I'm absolutely fine and some days I'm still, well, wrecked about it. At some point, I will be able to listen to this song without bawling, but today is not that day. Loved the reaction, guys. :)

They make great music IMO. Lyrics that can be felt. I really love their music. Thank you for the reaction! I also love another band where... I dunno, their lyrics also tend to touch me emotionally. I loved them some 20 years ago and I am now back to listening to all their music again. They're a Finnish band called The Rasmus and they make alternative rock music/rock-pop, tbh they have a lot of different influences in their sound depending on what era you listen to, (from the early funk-rock to disco-pop-rock) but their base is alternative rock á la Nordic/Scandinavia Style. They formed their band in school 1994 just 15 years old and released their first album 1996. They will release their 10th album in September. They just released a new song last week that brought them back to their... I think 2008-ish sound. The song is called Rise and I would love a reaction from you. It has quite a personal meaning to the singer and the fight against depression (but it has a positive message) who wrote the song with Desmond Child and that's probably why it reminds me of their 2008 album as Desmond was co-writing and producing that album. There's also a lyrics reference to that album which was Black Roses. I mean I don't think that is a coincident. So yeah, would love a reaction to that song. Also, their most famous song is called In the Shadows which took them all around the globe in 2003. :)

Imo this is the best song they've ever released. The singer wrote it after his sister in law died

this is about mental health struggle for men. men are expected to be tough and never cry or show emotion, especially for something as 'trivial' as a break-up, so to see this modern representation of a tough guy processing grief and depression is really amazing!

I wish she had more depth in her analyzation; not limited to visual and stuck to only one word, that is ‘wreck’.
