@@patfiegener5369 my wife is a trainer and does all our farrier work at our equine rescue. I sat and watched her this evening do a couple of the horses at the rescues feet. It’s crazy. It must be murder on your back, and as you said the skill with the blade and file is incredible.

Horses need to run 15 to 20 miles per day to keep their hooves trimmed naturally.

@@notyou6950 That depends on the ground they are running on. Hard rocky ground does a quicker trim than soft lush grass.

To be honest, I was expecting something more than a regular cleaning. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Not that I wish that this horse was suffering from something stuck in his hoof, but the title led me to believe there was more going on in this video. What a let down. 😞

@raffinee_3763
@raffinee_3763 3 ай бұрын
@@animal_health_factory Nah, there was nothing to miss. Quite frankly if the horse was lame on the foot you are working on, why wouldn't you have worked on that hoof first rather than the right hoof that's already been trimmed? Wouldn't that have been excruciating for this horse that couldn't walk if you worked on the right hoof first?

As a farrier of 50yrs. Way too much carving of the sole and frog. Didn't use a hoof level to determine correct equal angle with the corresponding other hoof. Please don't be so aggressive about cutting out the bars.
