A bit late posting to this, but it came up as KZbin was randomly playing things for me. I've listened to it multiple times be it on here, the radio, or spotify. I just wanted to take a moment to write out how it has affected and helped me during a very difficult process. When I first heard it, 2 years ago, my grandfather had just passed away. The man, for all intent and purpose, that was my father figure for majority of my life. Every time I hear this song, like now, I can't help but take a moment to remember him. To grieve him. I allow myself a few minutes to do that while listening to this song whenever it comes up. Grieving is never over. Thank you ID. It’s like you haven’t been alive long enough to fully know them, but you still love them with your entire heart and soul. For me personally I’ve lost many family members that I cared for deeply. My great grandfather died a few years ago, and my grandad died just a year ago, and I still can still remember our memories like it was yesterday. Those lyrics hit so close to home for me bc it makes me think about how when I was little my mom used to leave for weeks at a time after saying she'd be gone for only a few days and I used to wait on a chair at the window for hours to the point where I'd sleep there and I remember often watching the rain trickle on the window getting scared by the thunder but having no one to cheer me. Yea, I can sympathize with how he feels in this song. A woman I was best friends with for nearly a decade was killed in a murder suicide by a guy she was breaking up with. I am so so sorry. Its really tough for the young ones these days. Im 34, and have three boys all under 10. I worry so bad for them, knowing how hard I've had it, how others have it, its terrifying if you really think about it. My heart hurts for you and your son. This is a hard place for souls to learn. As long as he is in your heart he's not gone, I think people go, not to hurt anyone, but bc they hurt so very badly themselves.
