In 1997, Dan Bewick and Matt Frost were hired by Ministry of Sound to make a song exclusively for their compilation CDs. The track was produced, and placed into the hands of the compilation mixers at the label. In total, it was placed on two compilations, those being 'Dance Nation 4' and 'The Annual III', both on the Boy George mix. The duo would produce two more tracks for Ministry, both only seeing the light of day on one compilation each.
Since then, the track has never been commercially released outside of these two compilations, meaning no full version of the track is available. One of the producers, Matt Frost, did mention a possible release around a year ago, but it's been radio silence since. So I took it upon myself to combine both known versions of the track into a full song, to demonstrate exactly how much of the song we have. Since 'The Annual III' version has more content at the beginning of the track and is not edited, I used that to start with before moving to the 'Dance Nation 4' version, which contains a lot more of the track after the opening. And, just for the aesthetic, I also created a artwork matching Ministry's style for releasing tracks at the time.
Since these are DJ mixes, some other tracks play as the subject of the video fades in. These tracks are:
To Start: Revival 3000 - The Mighty High (Bomb Mix) [Taken from 'The Annual III']
To Finish: Joshua - Soulfly (Evolution Mix) [Taken from 'Dance Nation 4']
The song is at a BPM of 129.7, as it is played in 'The Annual III'. In 'Dance Nation 4', the track is played 1.5% faster, at 131.6 BPM.
If I really feel like it, I will make an extended version of the track using melody.ml that is suitable for mixing.
