I have a parent with ASPD (formerly sociopathy) and malignant narcissism. They lie like they breathe, never ever saw my father take accountability or responsibility for his words. He was very much like Alex in the way he talked. People with ASPD do have empathy, but it’s for themselves that don’t necessarily feel that towards others. My father was also very verbally, emotionally and physically abusive and it gets extremely exhausting. He would harm himself if my mom wanted to leave and I’m sure he sees this as Alice’s fault not one of his own. ASPD people tend to mimic what they know what people want to hear or feel so that’s why lying is so ingrained into their behavior. I have tons of crazy stories of my dad that I’m so desensitized to I forget how bad it actually is/was until people react when I tell them.

@@icravedeath.1200 That's great. I haven't seen many with ASPD and malignant narcissism outside my family. I am aware ASPD is a spectrum disorder, and some can be high-functioning, while others can be mid to low-functioning. So no matter how many traits I see in Alex of my dad, they could still be different levels, hence the generalizations. Yes, I'm biased. I'm also not a medical professional, and this is my lived experience. That's great if you've had a different experience, but I'm curious to know how you're not biased and more qualified to know better. (I'm earnestly curious, not trying to sound snobbish; I don't know how to word it.) But I will say telling me all this doesn't change my lived experience sadly. Oh also Id like to know which oart was the misinfo, as rereading it is from my dads behavior, how can I spread misinfo on my own father? Just because others get help successfully doesnt mean my father did.

You sure as shit like speaking on the subject using authoritative wording don't you, also do yourself a favour and research cognitive empathy, the belief that people with aspd are incapable of feeling empathy is outdated, they just need help developing it through proper intervention. I think I have more authority on the subject because I think I probably actually have it (I've been procrastinating because of narcissism, depression and the NHS being a bitch to deal with as somebody with autism), I'm pretty sure it's either that or schizophrenia or maybe NPD but I don't fucking know. Thanks for another great video, Mika! 🌈 The following is something I post on DV related videos: On average, victims of intimate partner abuse try to leave the relationship 7 times before they are successful or dead. There is so much nuance to abuse, especially domestic violence. It is not as simple as leaving; in fact, victims are at highest risk of injury/death when ending the relationship. Please learn more about survivorship from organizations such as RAINN or the National Domestic Violence Hotline. Seek out perspectives from survivors themselves. I also recommend learning about how trauma affects people.

It can impact _affective_ empathy for some people*. Not cognitive empathy. A very important distinction. * Not everyone experiences the same symptoms. And the loss of affective empathy can fluctuate as its tied to emotions. If someone is in a state where they are so exhausted they can barely feel anything for themselves, theyre not gonna have the energy to emotionally empathise with others. And if anyone reading this struggles with this? It does not make you a bad person. Your brain is just struggling to produce the needed chemicals to function properly.

When the slazo situation happened i remember being so confused, i gave up and let the masses handle things lol. I stopped watching anyone associated with imalex to simplify things- bionicpig and elvisthealien were the main ones i enjoyed but it juat wasnt worth trying to dig through the drama to know who was "good" and who was "bad". Alice's experience after moving in with imalex reminds me of the very short time i moved in with a friend. He was a very manipulative person and i was very fresh off a head injury, it ended with him scratching his own face so he could call the police on me. I was so lost in the sauce i didnt see what a gift that was, i didnt have the sense to get myself out and he made it so i had to leave in an attempt to fuck with my life. Hearing the call where imalex threatens alice brought back some memories i didnt realize i had pushed away, it feels obvious to get away when youre looking in from the outside but when youre in the thick of it you feel trapped. You dont know what the person abusing you is capable of and how they will react, just because you cut off a person doesnt mean they disappear or that their abusive personality wont be a problem. It feels easier to stay in the situation, as if it gives some tiny, twisted form of control you desperately need.

I used to watch Alex quite frequently back in 2018-2020, when they collabed a lot with Will, George, James and Fraser. I remember being very confused and then upset and mad when the Slazo ‘situation’ happened (I never watched anyone related to that group of people apart from Alex but I vividly remember how angry I was that he got involved). His statement afterwards didn’t make sense to me but I moved on with the thought that they either made up in private or let it go (seems like the latter, obviously). I was put off and stopped watching him - at that point I was already no longer interested in the type of content these people made, I didn’t care about the drama and I had better creators to watch in case something serious happened. Also, frankly, his videos with other people were heavily carried by those people and not him (which is another reason I didn’t watch him a lot). I remember how the e-boys channel was created and how Fraser wasn’t in it - and it was crazy. I, too, remember him talking about it, so that whole mess was.. well, messy. After that channel died, I completely moved on from all its participants. What’s funny is that I still watch iNabber bc I can see the research and the effort, but I don’t watch anyone else from that group. That document and videos are horrible, listening to him scream made me sick. Thankfully, I was lucky enough to not know people like that, so I can’t even begin to understand how hard it was for Alice to live through that hell. What I can say is that he is disgusting, and he isn’t even the first person this year that fits the type you described - seemingly feminist, gamer, shy, introverted and so on. They always are so for equality and then turn out to be such twats. I can’t say I was surprised (not because I felt something) but I was definitely angry and sick to my stomach. I really hope Alice and anyone else who he may have hurt in the past can move on with their lives and leave him behind. I hope that they heal from this shit and have love and appreciation with good people, they deserve nothing less. As for Alex, I don’t think he will say anything now or in the closer future. Maybe we will see him next year, it’s not uncommon. I’m hoping we won’t though Your accent was great btw, kinda gave me a second to breathe, laugh a bit and forget for a moment

It's like they're trying to save their own asses by using the most dramatic wording possible to distance themselves instead of saying something meaningful about the situation, or heartfelt towards the victims. Like they're throwing out the most dramatic statement so it can make up for never talking about the situation again or something. Imagine coming out with your abuse story and their friends start coming out with some insincere ass statements like "Omg I did NOT know that! Worse than 9/11."... You do NOT think that.

I remember watching his insipid commentary. It just felt like his only goal was being on the cool kids table.

So glad I trusted my intuition from the get and never watched this guy's vids. I attempted once, but got such a bad vibe I didn't finish and never attempted again. Based on everything I've seen from and about this guy, I can honestly say that Alex is a boil on the butt of humanity. However, in an attempt to end this comment in a more upbeat kinda way, your eyeliner is ::chef's kiss:: pure perfection, Mika!!

your audios great!😁 the only thing is the mic seems maybe pretty sensitive, somtimes it almost sounds like your blowing into the mic. its most noticeable on your S's.

I actually don’t speculate on that for some reason, yes I think in a couple months he’ll do some ‘working on myself’ bs. Then he will keep pumping out content with like 80% less views than before

I don’t think people that make low effort content are necessarily bad people. I like watching ten different commentaries on the same topic even if I already have my own opinion. KZbin wasn’t meant to be that serious, so I don’t expect KZbinrs to have journalistic integrity. This isn’t to defend Alex, but there’s plenty of commentators that have uninformed takes like ready to glare or salem Tovar. I agree that there’s a risk with not making more researched based videos, but I just don’t take what they say as fact. I think it’s fine for twenty commentary channels to jump to react to the same article or couple of TikTok’s about jojo siwa, but then understand that they arent as credible as an hour long deep dive from inabber on the same topic

I won't claim moral highground for a second but Alex had always sort of annoyed me (i got into george first and then james and will followed suit) But when he REALLY rubbed me the wrong way and I felt off about him was during the Eboys baking video And he smashed his head into the premade cake and then got "mad" when he was called out on it His reaction just had me feeling all sorts of weird Even though I'd never really watched him, I absolutely avoided him after.
