If you think the context for that verse is about hope, then you’re partially right. I mean, the main thrust of Ayah Maryam (19) is that: 1, You better worship Allah, 2, He will not forget if you don’t, 3, There will be a day of reckoning 4, Everyone will be lined up, and 5, Islamists decide who’s going to hell. So yes it’s a text about hope, the hope of the extermination of non believers.

translating verses is tricky. by translating into 'english' you are basically repeating the 'translator's ' opinion(s). you need to read/understand it in arabic and the overall context of the verse. Otherwise you just mimic those insta types you put lame quotes on their feeds to make themselves look deep.

I’m an atheist but enjoy reading “sacred” books out of historical, anthropological or even spiritual interest. The Koran is by far the most aggressive, dull and least profound holy book I read. Most such books contain obsolete or even silly passages, but the Koran takes it to another level… smh. Imam’s favorite quote is a case in point, nothing thought-provoking here at all.

From Quran I have learnt that Humanity and caring is a duty and responsibility for every human being, it is not only a quality, charity, show off, generosity or kindness.
