Iman is a classy, intelligent, genuine person which is especially impressive considering the industry she ended up in. I'm not impressed with the fashion industry but I am very impressed by her. Regarding the negative way people from Somalia view her, well I find it confusing. There's nothing tacky or sleazy about her, she carries herself with dignity, she hasn't forgotten where she's come from, she is constantly trying to do things for the country she came from.

I'm just glad she doesn't seem like a self-absorbed diva or on those egotistical women you see on talk shows or reality shows. She actually seems really cool, like when she talks about being a "black model," she doesn't sound vindictive or spiteful. I was fortunate enough to meet her & David Bowie in 2000 & they were so grounded and cool that it blew my mind. She is actually a tad shy, at first, get her talking about human rights and her passion hits the ceiling.
