It is real and it can provide a clear competitive advantage, which is why Track and Field organizations put in measures to prevent these situations back in 2018. The IOC should have followed their decisions, instead they put the health and safety of some of the best female boxers at risk, as Imane took advantage of the loophole.

But this person is alleged to have a disorder of sexual development (DSD) which means he or she looked female at birth (in "her" case) but has later been found to have male chromosomes in "his" case according to the international boxing association. which seems to be the only organisation that has required a test to be carried out. The Olympics body thinks you can change someone's biology by writing a word on a piece of paper, so they don't need a test. Great logic.
