Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I used Design Essentials' Honey Créme Moisture Retention Super Detangling Conditioning Shampoo & Instant Moisturizing Conditioner. I don't have a go-to conditioner/shampoo. I just used what I had around the house. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend these products for locs.

Thinking abt getting sisterlocks..but not sure because my hair it almost tail bone length...so my question is will i have to cut it?

Hi Lexo! Thanks for your question. I'm assuming based on your thumbnail that your hair is tailbone length stretched. The short answer to your question is no, you will not have to cut your hair. A sisterlocks consultant can install locs at any length. However, the longer your hair when you install sisterlocks, the more expensive the installation will be. Every consultant has their own rates and I got mine installed 10 years ago so I am not at liberty to give you an estimate based on the information you've given me. But what I can tell you is, no, you don't have to cut your hair but your instillation will probably be really expensive. I hope that this was helpful! :)

Cool tip about the different washing methods. I do find that I have to be more gentle in how I wash when I have more new growth. I love diluting the shampoo in an applicator bottle or spray bottle to help spread it so theres less manipulation. What design essentials products did you use in the video? I'm thinking of trying them out when I run out of taliah waajid

Unfortunately, I don't remember which products I used, as I am very inconsistent about which shampoo/conditioners I use. I plan on finding go-to products in the new year! I remember I stopped using Design Essentials because it gave me rashes, but I have to stay away from scented products in general because of my sensitive skin.

Thank you! Yes, your hair is in the budding stage. That's completely normal. If you have any other concerns, I'd recommend asking your consultant because they can actually look at your hair and let you know if anything is wrong. I'm not a consultant so I can only speak on my experiences :)

hello imani, i just started my sisterlocks journey about three weeks ago. i'm not planning to wash my hair right now, but in a couple weeks i will probably need to do so. What type of shampoo/conditioner would you suggest for washing your sisterlocks?

Hi! Truthfully, I don't have any suggestions. I'm the worst when it comes to using a consistent shampoo/conditioner. I just recommend not using shampoo/conditioner that have an emphasis on detangling properties (usually marketed towards loose curly naturals). This will help reduce slippage for starter locs. And of course, don't forget to wash your hair with the braiding and banding technique :) There are plenty of videos on KZbin that can help you if you are unfamiliar with it. Hope this helps!
