Carl's been my favorite from the start. Always reminded me of the old song "She's more to be pitied than centured". He's not mean or viscious. He's reactive like God made him. Check out the channel Mama goes globetrotting Mama learns to ride an ostrich and tell me which is the viscious species!!! BTW ostriches are herd animals living in flocks of 10 to100 which might explain his need to be part of a group.
@dwanpowers7803 жыл бұрын
@@donalynschumann1275 I also love Carl. I don't think he is vicious. Nor have I implied that. Many species are more "stand offish" or territorial during mating season... like God made them. The way you say that about those other channels makes me not want to go watch them😅. I will just stick with the Morrow family, which I adore and stay in my happy bubble. I get plenty of the real vicious species in everyday life I don't want to search for it on here.

I'm so glad that Carl has adjusted so well to farm life. He does his job quite well and has accepted the fact that y'all got to do your jobs. I did notice one thing. When you put your hands on your hips, it's kind of the same as Carl putting his wings out. So when you put your hands on your hips, he may see that as a challenge. I just noticed he seemed to get a little irritable, for lack of a better word, once you put your hands on your hips while you were facing him. I don't know much about ostriches, everything I've learned about them I've learned from you and Rick. However, I've worked with parrots in rescue for a long time. Technically, a bird is a bird. Typically when a bird puts their wings out it is for mating purposes to look larger to something they deem as threatening. So when you put your hands on your hips while facing him like that you're basically threatening him. I noticed his neck got real tall and he made himself look larger the moment you put your hands on your hips. And I for one did notice that y'all were having a much easier time working around him. I believe all of that is because of y'all's patience and seeking to understand his language and his needs
