In this video, I tell the sad story of Imber, a Wiltshire village evacuated in the heights of World War II to allow for military training.
The residents who lived and farmed here were given just 47 days to pack all of their belongings and leave their homes under the belief that when the war was over, they would be allowed to return.
This promise was never fulfilled.

The village is only open to the public a couple of times a year. The rest of the time, it is used for live military practice which, of course, is a great danger to the public. Please check the following website for details of opening events and ONLY visit during these times:
