Even for a tool assisted run, an impressive show of skill with Ryoko. And the extra round with Ox was entertaining.

Grapplers always have cool, yet powerful throws for some reason(and are usually difficult, if not impossible to pull of): - Zangief's Spinning Piledriver - T Hawk's Mexican Typhoon - Tager's Genesic Emerald Tager Buster and joining the ranks: - Ryoko's Chou Yama Arashi

This girl is actually based on a real life woman, Ryoko Tamura Tani, regarded now as, arguably, the greatest judoka in history.

For her weight class. Important distinction. It was a very big deal at the time because Japan hadn't had a tremendous amount of success in Olympic judo for a while. Y'know, the sport invented by a Japanese martial artist and had been practiced solely in Japan for many years, which Japan was somehow able to shoehorn into the Olympics instead of the much more widespread and popular karate so that they'd always have a few easy medals. She was 27 at the time of the first Fighter's History. Her first Olympic gold medal was in 2000 (she had two silvers and a bronze up to that point). Once a fighting game picks up a cute girl, it never lets her go.

@@hawaiidkw1 You say that, but after Fighter's History(Dynamite) and World Heroes we haven't seen many 'Ryokos' since.

The animation is better than sf and the backgrounds have more activity going on, yet I still prefer sf

The thing that always stood out for me about this cute little atomic bomb was the almost unbelievable power of her throws. SF2WW Zangief couldn't hold her headband. And this was before supers! Imagine how much damage a powered-up fire spinner or ground choke would do. . Man, you'd never think that Ryoko Tani was just this scrawny little thing.
