08/02/23: i first heard this song during covid and was like oh my god this is a masterpiece and i come back to it every once in a while and it holds such a special place in my heart 20/02/23: i didnt think id come back to this so soon but im emotional lol. i went to a concert and ugly cried to juliet by cavetown and then listened to this song when i got back to the hotel and ugly cried even more :) i wish it would rain 11/04/23: it rained today ! it's rained other days but today was nice for some reason. i was scared it would damage my headphones tho lol. i cant wait for it to rain when its warm so it smells nice if that makes sense 21/10/24: omg i forgot i did this! so much in my life has changed since the last time i wrote. its rained a lot. i have made a lot of memories in the rain since. things bigger than me have impacted the whole fandom; this song has no correlation to liams death but honestly it doesnt need to- one direction was always a part of my childhood and although other member's music spoke to me more, and liam's recent actions are less then admirable to women and one direction fans, myself and many others around the world are still mourning the impact he had on millions of lives. rest in peace liam, for the boy that you once were and the person you and your music, during and after one direction, and however small, made me. in other news; new friends, university and much more! i think i have finally found my peace and my people; what i want to do with my life and the struggles ive had with my identity i have overcome for the most part, by just like having the idea that i literally couldnt give less of a shit how people see me and what they think of me. like yes i want people to like me but i cant do anything to change their mind so why even bother stressing over what their perception is of me? especially random people in the street. i just want to be kind. make good memories with good people while i can. the rain has helped with that- being in a notoriously rainy new city, or even when i went away on holiday and it legitimately poured it down on me and my friends- yet they say that it was one of their favourite parts of the trip. means a lot to me. i dont have the same view of the rain i had living at home now i have moved out, and the feeling is different but nostalgic and familiar. still one of my favourite things. hopefully next time i return there will be more uplifting anecdotes!
