8:15 I just want to clarify here, this blue streak shows your final launch angle. This combines the knockback angle AND your DI, thus showing your final launch angle. A lot of people think that this streak only shows the direction of your DI, so I wanted to clarify. One thing to note is that the streak does not appear if the move does not send you into tumble.

The best way to SDI is instead of rolling the stick with your left thumb, wiggle the entire controller with your right hand while holding the stick in the direction that you want to go. This does the same thing as rolling the stick, but it's so so sooooo fast.

@@HalosydneICS for 30 frames at most that is, but i was thinking wrong lmao for some reason i thought you would do the same thing that the 64 pros do, which is the controller wiggle method but extremely fast and difficult, because in 64 and melee you have to have the method absolutely perfected to have an advantage over wiggle, but for ultimate you can do it alot slower because of the 4 frames cap anyways so it really doesnt matter. originally i was thinking controller wiggle is useless for ult because its just too hard

esam i want to ask, how does DI down actually affect your trajectory? i’ve heard differing responses. i’ve heard that it’s LSI and it just changes the velocity you’re launched at, ive heard that it lowers your vertical angle, i’ve heard that its function depends on the angle you’re sent at, etc. what does it actually do? what does “down and in” do that differs from “straight in?”
@HalosydneICS3 жыл бұрын
DI down is called LSI (as you said), which stands for Launch Speed Influence, and it does change your trajectory, but more importantly it changes how much knockback you take. If you hold down, you take less knockback, if you hold up, you take more. LSI doesn't work if you get sent straight up or straight down.
@harrym36733 жыл бұрын
DI down reduces knockback (LSI) but it also sends you on a shorter path to the side blast zone which makes it worse in most cases.
@fernandobanda57343 жыл бұрын
DIing down does nothing at all in terms of changing the angle, but it does reduce the knockback. It also doesn't work at all with knockback that's just too vertical. And in general the knockback reduction doesn't make up for the lack of angle change. One moment where it can make a difference is if you get stage spiked. If you're holding down, the knockback reduction can be the difference between being able to tech the stage wall or not.

I just want to point out for anyone like me who only recently found out there's a "DI indicator" (the glowing blue line thing), it points in the direction that the move will launch. When people call it a "DI indicator" at first I thought it would point in the direction that someone is DI-ing, but that's not what it does. It points in the direction of the launch angle after DI, which will be somewhere in between the default launch angle of a move and the direction in which DI was applied.
