And, camera this thing, it has its own function, but...more you use it, maybe less truth will be found, it can be considered as a kind of secondary effect of controlling. @@drummerboy6653 he ripped his eyes and his tongue from him (unlike the others, imhotept just absorbed them), then Evee interrupts (he squints his eyes trying to see but Mr. Burns eyesight was so bad that he thought she was Ankh-Se-Namun) and the Medjay saved Mr. Burns, that's why he needed Benny to consumate the absorption.

Despite being immortal, Imhotep was at his weakest form, virtually no power. Rick had a shotgun, the three Americans had torches, and Imhotep was barely capable of standing. A single blast of Rick's shotgun outright toppled the monster. Had they held their ground, they had the opportunity to blast, torch, and dismember Imhotep beyond recovery. While it's a gamble, it's safe to assume that Imhotep currently lacked any power of regeneration.

That’s a very good point. Not to mention, his body hadn’t moved for over 3,000 years. So even being immortal, his decomposed body was likely weak at first.

It is a gamble. Imhotep is actually already supernaturally strong even in this form; he punched his way through the catacombs' ceiling shortly afterwards. If any of the cursed gets too close to Imhotep he easily devours them and powers up. Lastly, like the priest mummies, his severed limbs might be able to operate even when severed. Oh, and the torches can go out and the shotgun will run out of bullets far too quickly.

1:50 just that faint shadow is enough to unsettle the audience. Right up until Imhotep attacks the suspense builds. Then he finally attacks and the scene ends with Burns screaming in horror. Perfect way to introduce the mummy after coming back to life.

At first, he just shambles around using what still remained of his senses. After physically taking Burns' eyes he actually can't see clearly, hence his questioning tone to Evelyn. But its better than nothing and after a few meals Burn's eyes are converted to Imhotep's, restoring his sight fully.

A very good movie with very good performances and some really memorable quotes. Brendan Fraser's quotes like "hide and seek", "goodbye Beni" and that scream towards the mummy really funny, not to mention the clumsy yet hilarious scenes of John Hannah. Arnoldo Voslo'o is also brilliant as the mummy, especially if you think that he doesn't speak English during the movie. As for Rachel Weisz, just this ❤️ PS. Dear miss Evie, how could a man lacking his (already weak) eyes ever help you against an immortal bloodthirsty creature? 🤣
