I live in France and as an American Protestant, was friends with American Evangelical "Missionaries" who openly and clearly explained to me that their purpose in moving to France was to Christianize the French, because, as they explained, Catholics are not Christians. For two years, we had weekly Bible study in my home, led by these missionary pastors, while those who attended were Catholic friends of mine, because in France, there are very few Protestants. During the second year of these Bible studies, it became painfully evident to me that the unique purpose of our Bible study was to take my faithful, devout, practicing, humble, sincere Catholic friends away from the Catholic Church and into the pastors' Evangelical sect/cult. I felt as if I had betrayed my Catholic friends, and coupled with the Evangelical pastors' very strange interpretations of Scripture, I had to end our Bible study and my relationship with the Evangelical community. I had been seeking Biblical truth, and the experience helped bring me into the Catholic Church.

@alexchristpher221 Muslims are on the other side of the fence. They plainly deny Jesus Christ is the savior and Son of God. There is no hope. Catholics on the other hand are deceived. They want to be Christians but traditions and teachings of men are holding them back. There are some catholics who belong to God and have a chance of being saved, that is why in Revelation God says, "COME OUT OF HER MY PEOPLE BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!

I cannot hit the like button enough times on this video. I came out of a Southern Baptist tradition and everything he says is dead on! I’ve been telling my Catholic brothers and sisters, do NOT go chase the ball every time a Protestant throws it. Case in point, “Where is that in the Bible?” Now they’re putting you on Sola Scriptura terms. I prefer to say that for over 1,500 years, all Christians believed it was this way. Numerous councils met and interpreted the scripture. But here you are with your Bible and your belief that you’re being led by the Holy Spirit disputing the one, true, Catholic, and apostolic Church that was commissioned by Christ through St. Peter, and 2,000 years of apostolic tradition. Wow, the audacity! I’ve challenged Protestants on tenants of their faith to go research why their denomination believes that way. The funny thing is when they go all the way back to Calvin, Luther, and Zwingli, they find that they didn’t even believe consistent with their denomination. It’s also helpful to point out Protestant doctrine like the Rapture has only been around less than 200 years and only American evangelicals believe in it. If they’re going to make you go chase the ball, set some ground rules to the debate. My Baptist dad will badger me about famous Catholics that don’t seem to live a very godly life. I’ve asked him, “why would you judge a religion by its worst members, and not the best? Just us by our Saints and not just our sinners.”

I don't understand how you can convert to the roman Catholic church and accept what is taught as truth unless you have a far less than acceptable belief in God's word the scriptures. Were you born again believers in the Pentecostal church or just going through the motions? If you were born again believers all you are doing is changing the name of a church group. Heb 12:2 tells us among many verses to focus on Christ and the roman Catholic church has an unhealthy relationship with the mother of the one we are to focus on! How do you reconcile your belief in God when you accept what is not found in God's written word the scriptures?

Thanks so much for these pointers. When I moved to the U.S almost twenty years ago it didn't take me too long to realize how severely and borderline rabidly anti-Catholic it is as a nation. As I looked into Evangelical Christianity, over time it struck me that if somehow a law was enacted that would allow - for 24hours only - the citizens of the U.S to burn down Catholic churches, that yes, within 24 hours, every Catholic Church would go down. And it wouldn't be satanists and devil-worshippers responsible for it. As a matter of fact, those groups would sit back and gleefully let certain Evangelical Christian sects do all the dirty work for them! I truly and honestly had this notion. When I reverted almost two years ago, for a few months, I wondered for my safety😂 (it was more of a mental/emotional thing though). One of my major rebuttals for "look at the history of The Church and all the _bad bad bad_ , hence there is no way this is the Church Christ founded" is:- look at the Nation of Israel over is it two millennia...?? Or almost two millennia...?? Every generation or two they would turn to actual devil worship. The entire nation! Except for a select view. Yet nobody within Christiandom bats an eyelid as to the fact that the Messiah came through them, only because it is after the fact. God is simply looking for a conduit to work through. Period. A conduit He founded, just like "the nation of Israel". And in the Church Age it is The Catholic Church! He is not looking for perfection....or utopia. Another thing. I have heard that it is Mother Angelica (could be someone else) who used the same logic of reciprocity when it comes to praying with Protestants. Something to the effect of:- "If I can't say 'Amen' to your prayer and you can't say 'Amen' to my prayer, then we can't pray together". Makes sense to me. If they refuse to pray Catholic prayers with you, then don't pray with them either. You see that logic of that pastor in your last story?? Quoting the "divisions and factions" portion of Scripture?? This is why I. COULDN'T with Evangelical leaders.... that's ridiculous!! Christianity seems to be like a game to Evangelicals....that was my conclusion. Like there was something they were trying to "win". It seemed to be about winning an argument as opposed to just wanting the purity of Truth. Anything....any loophole to not face The Truth. Very contradictory, dissonant, inconsistent way of thinking....Evangelical Christianity!!🤦

Oh yeah I've been told many times what we believe. I was told that Catholics worship the Virgin Mary. So I asked him if he had ever been to a Catholic church before. He said ofcourse! So then I asked him "Okay then did you see a Christ on the Crucifix or a Virgin Mary on the Crucifix?". He was so dumbfounded and admitted that he didn't know what he was talking about. Also he didn't know what to say when I said the Catholic Church wrote the Bible and why would the Catholic Church write a Bible that is against itself. Also they also claim to "Christianize" people who are already Christian Catholic. I pointed out that you are only protestantizing people. I told him if he wanted to Christianize try going to Arabia or India or such. Ofcourse he oh never, it's to dangerous.

Great video - I too am married to a Protestant and have so many similar experiences to yours and I agree with your takes here entirely. One key I have found when it comes to dealing with Protestants is to focus on the Eucharist. That’s their weak point. Make them yearn to see and touch Christ physically as we get to every week, and every Mass. And just remember, almost no one converts from one argument. It’s typically many data points over many years that brings it altogether for them. So when you are debating Protestants you are planting seeds for the future, so be satisfied to plant those seeds.

I watch videos of "The Chosen" on KZbin. I have been struck by how frequently someone in the comments writes in, "I wish that I could have a hug from Jesus". It appears all of the time. I feel like saying that, if you were Catholic, you could receive Him in the Holy Eucharist as often as every day if you wanted to.
@Electric_

@@RitaGatton it’s interesting you say that, as I have been using The Chosen to lead Protestants to Catholicism. Imagine if you could talk to Phillip or Mary Magdalene, or any other character you really like on the show? Catholics can. The Chosen really opens up Protestants to the Communion of Saints too.

@@dartheli7400 Happy to help. I just got the notification of your response this morning. KZbin is quirky. Hera are my thoughts (as a former Protestant, btw): While one group of Protestants is touting "once saved always saved" theology, another group is stating that you can never really be sure who has REAL faith until the end because it might turn out that one is "overcome" by the world at the last minute. I'm just curious, which of these groups is "rightly dividing the word of God" and which is wrongly dividing it? They can't both be right-yet both claim scripture as their sole rule of faith. So much for the doctrine of _sola scriptura._ But I digress. When Catholics speak of mortal sin, Protestants will raise objections about how wrong Catholics are to hold that someone could live a good life according to the Word of God and still lose out on salvation because they are not in a state of grace due to mortal sin at the time of their death. Yet, Reformed Protestants will declare that if one is "overcome" by the world and does not persevere (in what? good works?) to the end, that is evidence that one does not have saving faith to being with! Our Calvinist friends are in a difficult situation for they cannot know for sure _right now_ if they REALLY have that saving faith or not, and they won't know this side of heaven. They realize (or should, if they are honest) that they could be overcome at some point _in the future_ because their time of testing has not yet come. It is my contention that this uncertainty is what drives much of the "good works" of Protestantism-the evangelizing, the tithing, the missionary work, etc. And while I do not believe that there is not genuine good intent at the root of these efforts in general, I also think that Protestants do these things, in part, to give evidence - to themselves and to other members of their faith community - that they have saving faith that perseveres to the end. "Keeping up with the Joneses" is an issue in the spiritual life as well as the material life. This is the treadmill they are on-and then they condemn Catholics because they mistakenly believe Catholics think they can earn their way into heaven! They attribute this false idea to Catholics because many of them are actually attempting to do that very thing - or something very similar - themselves!

Just subscribed to your channel. I really enjoy listening to you, even if I know most of the stuff you talk about. It's therapeutic to hear someone else who believes what you believe. Sometimes I feel like I'm going mad, that I'm the only person on Earth who still clings to the faith of the ages. Here in Spain, thanks to the great work of the Holy Inquisition, we have virtually no protestants, so that doesn't really affect me like it used to when I lived in England. However, I say I feel lonely in my faith because here people are very modernist. The liberal, democratic, watered-down version of catholicism is the norm amongst those who profess belief in God. And the percentage of Spaniards who call themselves christians is dwindling fast. Here catholics don't normally leave the Church to join a sect; they leave to become atheists. I feel for you when you speak about your wife being a protestant. Although my wife is officially a catholic, she is not traditional. She is partially infected with feminism, liberalism and modernism. She thinks I'm too "radical", and in the past we had a lot of arguments regarding the faith. Now I try to avoid that, and instead pray for her conversion to the truth. We have an agreement by which I go to the Novus Ordo Mass with her one Sunday, and the next she comes with me to the traditional Mass. This is a hard thing to do, because it feels schizophrenic. When I'm in the new Mass, I switch off and just quietly pray the Rosary. If I pay attention to what's happening I just get angry. Now my challenge is to make sure our three children become traditional. It's difficult, because the new religion (I consider them to be different religions) is much less demanding. The fasts have almost all disappeared, the Mass lasts half the time, there is less insistence on penance, almost nothing is a sin anymore, and according to the modernist priests, everyone is doing just fine and is guaranteed a place in Heaven, unless of course you don't recycle or you don't love millions of migrants invading the country. Thanks again for your work, it's inspiring. God bless you and your family.

When you go to war you gotta have the right armors. I'm thankful for my research teachers, I'll never forget what they always say ""in researching, always go to the primary source". Former Protestant myself. Catholics in general are dangerously inept at defending the faith. I think the church should offer apologetics classes for real. Protestants use the straw man tactic constantly when going after Catholics. They pick the lowest hanging fruit to attack. Like, why do you worship Mary? Why do you practice idolatry? Where does the Bible say to pray to saints? These arguments are all easily debunked. I’m glad you made this channel. Good video.

Great video and thank you for sharing! My wife is protestant, Methodist. When I converted to the Catholic Church from Southern Baptist, my wife didn't come with me, but she did sign our two sons up for Catholic Faith formation and has been attending mass with us for the pass 10+ years, but just recently she has decided to stop going with us because she says it's just not her. I'd say pray for her. Most protestants that become Catholic are usually because they study about the faith. Although most would initially study it just to refute Catholicism or are in denial but at the end of it, most of them do become Catholics. Oh, and continuous engagements with Catholicism, I'd say. May be ask her what it is that makes her feel that way. Getting to the bottom of things is better but with gentleness and patience. God bless, dear neighbor! ❤️‍🔥

*RULES FOR HANDLING PROTESTANTS* Rule#1: No drive-by shotgun blasts. Deal with questions/objections one at a time. Rule #2: Only the Catholic Church gets to decide what Catholics believe. Rule #3: You have the right to look something up and get back in touch. Rule #4: Level Playing Field. They ask you a question, then you get to ask them a question. (Where does the Bible teach sola scriptura?) Rule #5: We do not agree to go by the Bible alone. We have the Bible and the Early Church Fathers who taught Catholic doctrine. Rule #5a: Always use Catholic translations because Protestant translations have changed some words to support Protestant doctrines Rule #6: The person who makes the positive statement has the burden of proof. Ex. Catholics worship Mary. Okay, Protestant, prove it. Rule #6a: Only accept official Catholic Church documents when discussing Catholic doctrine. Books by ex-Catholics are irrelevant. Rule #7: Own the bad stuff that has occurred over the past 2,000. We've had bad popes, etc. Own it. Rule #8: Don't go to Protestant services or activities. If invited, they have to come to mass first. Rule #9: Don't give money to Protestants. Their missionaries are going to Catholic countries to convert Catholics, not to dig wells or build schools.

But there is also another possible protestant position in relation to catholics. For my part I`m a protestant, but I am a "catholic-friendly protestant"., I sometimes visit the catholic church in my home town and I think the vicar there actally preaches more Lutheran than some priests in my own formally Lutheran church. The large differences today are often not between denominations, but straight through them. When I go to church I choose very carefully the individual preacher. I choose theologically conservative priest or pastors, no matter the denomination, that preach the classic christian message, preachers I believe have the Holy Spirit. And I Believe the catholic vicar in our town is such a man- a very powerful man of God, a very powerful servant of Lord Christ, that I want to hear preach. I wouldn´t be too surpriced to see miracles in his congregation, becauseI think he has God with him. But I still think I will remain protestant, for example because there are a number of catholic teachings that I simply do not share an honest belief in, for example transsubstantiation, the role of the pope as "stand in" for Christ in this world, popes infallibility,, some of the catholic theology concerning saints and other things. Also I believe there are many formal/ nominal members both in my own church (Church of Sweden) and the Catolic church who are not real christians, who are not blievers and not saved, and who do not attend church on a regular basis. In my country many are nominal christians, but only christians by the name-not true disciples of Jesus. Today, it can be applied to any tradition of man that is contrary to God's instructions(Torah). God does not change, and His instructions do not change. Any individual or institution claiming to have authority from God, cannot teach anything contrary to God's law. If they do teach contrary to God's law(i.e. add/take away from it, change appointed times, nullify commandments, etc.) they are according to scripture a false teacher. Deuteronomy 13 and 18 instuct us how to identify which authorities are from God and which ones are false. Jesus created One Church, Matt 16:18. The pillar and foundation of Truth, 1 Tim 3:15, and the Final Authority, Matt 18:15-17. Around 107AD, St Ignatius of Antioch, a Bishop in Jesus's Church, wrote a letter calling the Church "Catholic", or Universal. The Church was united in its teachings for 1500 years. All Protestant churches are Man Made, and no more than 500 years old. or 400, 300, 200, 100, or 10, or last week. The first thing you do is reject the "Where is that in the Bible" argument. I ask Protestants where it says in the Bible that for something to be true, it must be written in the Bible? Then I use the Bible on them with things like 2 Thess 2:15 and 1 Thess 2:13. As for "Faith Alone" , I ask them to give me just one, single verse that says you are saved by Faith Alone. I tell them if they can, I will quit the Catholic Church and join theirs. Then they supply lots of verses saying "Faith".....then I tell them, oh yeah, I forgot about the other part of the deal. If I can show one verse proving them wrong, they must become Catholic. Nonsense. If you don't want to be led by a supposedly infallible Pope and embrace transubstantiation and the like you are perfectly free to form a local church of believers on a "sola scriptura" basis. You read the account of New Testament churches and they are far more like local charismatic home groups than these huge monolithical structures like the Catholic church. Not that I don't think there are true Roman Catholic believers but that's in spite of the cultish authoritarianism - though actually I think the current Pope seems to be a far better and gracious believer than most Catholic proponents.
@justthink8952
@justthink8952 Жыл бұрын
@@neilmccall5311 Friend , your justification for establishment of Protestant churches goes like this. 1. The pope is not infallible 2. Transubstantiation is false 3. New testament churches are like local charismatic churches 4. There are no true Roman Catholic believers And therefore, it is justified to form a local church of believers based on Sola scripture. But you didn't prove scriptural support for the establishment of Protestant churches. I assume you knew what the Catholic Church teaches on the infallibility Doctrine, transubstantiation. Exercising the infallibility Doctrine, the pope declared the 27 books of the NT as scripture. Since you reject it, you cannot use these NT books as Scripture unless you are able to prove with hard evidence that these books claim themselves to be scripture. For example, did Paul claim his letters are scripture? Did the gospel writers claim their books are scripture,? Where is it written? If you can't prove it, then they can't use them as scripture. As for transubstantiation, this word is not there in the Bible. This word was coined to defined the concept already in existence in the Bible. On the last supper, Jesus gave the bread as his body and wine as his blood to his Apostles. Catholics believed the Apostles ate Jesus' body and Jesus' blood. The word Transubstantiation was coined to make this concept clear. The new testament churches were overseen by the Apostles and the Bishops. The structure of the Catholic Church governance was started by them which has been developed to the structure of the Church in today's Roman Catholic Church. Actually, if you reject Roman Catholic Church, you should be embracing Orthodox Church or Oriental Churches, Coptic Church.... Protestantism is not biblical. Your reasoning that the New Testament churches are local in nature since they did not gather in big buildings like the Roman Catholic Church is silly. You knew the New Testament Church was under persecution. They were started by poor fishermen and the like. Surely you won't expect them to build big buildings for gathering. Also Sola scripture is not taught anywhere in the scripture. The fact that you know the writings of the Bible is true comes from believing in the tradition of men. Men attested that the fact that Jesus was truly born of virgin Mary. He lived, died and resurrected on the third day. Without the oral transmision of this fact, no normal being will believe a man could be born from a virgin woman. No one will believe he can come out from a sealed tomb on the third day. So, you see, your faith has all alone been based on human tradition while you were still preaching Sola scripture (which is not found in scripture).

@@justthink8952 Basically I believe the Bible model is that a group of people (probably through an evangelistic visit) come to faith in Christ and they are the church in that location. They are not accountable to some prelate in Rome or Jerusalem (and you would be hard presses to find in Acts or Paul's letters that Peter somehow had the pre-eminence at this time) however they appointed elders (not priests) and were overseen by the apostles as and when issues arose. Whatever the murky origins of my church (the Church of England) I also believe that God has used that along with other Reformation/Pentecostal movements to allow new churches to form on what they consider to be a Biblical basis. "Apostolic succession" has been a dead hand which allowed unbelievers to allow spiritual and political pre-eminence in the "Church" and unfortunateely this is a known history of the mediaeval Catholic chutch which can't be airbrushed away.

@@neilmccall5311 I think you will recognise that Jesus gave authority to the Apostles to teach and to govern his Church. They were even given the authority to excommunicate unrepentant member if they don't heed rebuke. Paul also exercised authority when he asked a local church to keep the collection ready in advance so that he may collect them during his visit. Local churches in New Testament times don't mean there was recognition of independent Church denominations. If it were possible, they would have loved to worship together under one roof in a very very big place. But the fact is, it is not possible for them to gather together at one place at the fixed time to worship. When the Apostles gathered at the council of Jerusalem, the settled the issue of circumcision. They then wrote a letter to the local church about their decision displaying their teaching and governing authority. The local churches in the New Testament showed they had one faith, they recognised the Apostles as their leaders, they obeyed the teachings of the Apostles. Apostolic succession is expected to carry on with the mission of Christ. Overseers, Bishops were mentioned in the New Testament. They have the approval of the Apostles. One may disagree on how priesthood was established. We have not seen explicit record of where and how Jesus ordained his Apostles as priests. And we have also not seen explicit report of where and how Jesus baptised his Apostles either. Catholics say Priesthood was instituted by Jesus Christ on the Last Supper when Jesus said "do this in memory of me". Jesus is our High Priest because on the last supper, he performed the role of the High Priest. He took the bread, offered it to God the Father and gave it to his disciples as his body. He did the same with the wine and gave it to them as his blood. A priest must have a sacrifice to offer on the altar. The only time in Jesus' life where he performed the role of a priest which is most fitting is at the last supper. John the Baptist said Jesus is the Lamb of God. And we also learned in other books that Jesus is our High Priest. The only fitting place where Jesus played these two roles is at the Last Supper.

@@neilmccall5311 You are right in saying God used other Reformation / Pentecostal movements. God permitting it don't mean God desired it. Jesus would have loved one faith, one Lord, one baptism. Personally, some of the things I learnt is due to the challenges/ questions posed by Protestants. Even in the midst of the Catholic Church losing huge membership, our priests in general are least bothered to do damage control. It may have to do with hierarchical Structure where obedience to the superior is enforced. Some of them are even accommodating leftist agenda. They want inclusivity whereas truth is exclusive.

Jesus as the head of His Church appointed Peter was His earthly representative with an unbroken line of apostolic succession from Peter to Francis The fruits of sola Scriptura & personal interpretation, confusion, division & scandal of 000’s of sects when Jesus willed unity Jn 17 11-21. Try combining Sacred Tradition, which existed before the NT, from the time of Jesus with Sacred Scripture under the unifying authoritative interpretation of the magisterium, the balanced three legged stool, far more rational & objective No organisation, such as Protestantism can survive without hierarchy & a unifying authoritative interpreter, the fruits being confusion, division & scandal of 000’s of sects, resulting from personal interpretation, which is not of Jesus who willed unity Jn 17 11-21 No Protestant has ever been able to explain why personal interpretation, if guided by the Holy Spirit has resulted in 000’s sects proving that either the Holy Spirit is wrong or more likely, Protestantism! There are none so blind as those with a darkened intellect which the Holy Spirit obviously isn’t enlightening! @geoffjs it is true that a lot of protestant denominations have a lot to answer for. The Roman church also has a lot to answer for for it's lawlessness. The Roman church is probably responsible for all the lawlessness of the Protestants as well because protestants still accept many of the decisions that the Roman church made. Deuteronomy 13 is the test to determine if any teacher, apostle, prophet, or brother is of God or not of God. If they teach anything contrary to the Torah, they are false. You will know them by their fruits. When you start stacking up the fruits of the Roman and protestant churches against the Torah, it doesn't take long to see all the areas they fall short on. They are not repentant and continue to teach lawlessness. And by the way, it was Jews that passed on the Scriptures, not any "catholic church". Most of the "church" before and after Jesus' time on earth used the septuagint, which would have been the Scriptures used by the Bereans and most other believers during Peter and Paul's ministry's.

@geoffjs at the end of the day, who the "true church" is, is defined in Exodus 19:5-6. The "church" has always been those who love the Father and keep His commandments. His commandments are actually pretty simple. No man made doctrines needed. Read the Word and do what it says. Being one of His people(Church) is something you do, not an identity or an institution. Ecc 12:13 The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

Catholicism has too many contradictions against the Bible to genuinely be considered Christian. I am a Protestant, more specifically, a Baptist. There is no religion or denomination that is sinless or perfect, because no one is perfect and sinless, except Jesus alone. There are a lot of questions that come up when you compare Catholicism to Christianity, more specifically, Protestantism. Is Catholicism more Biblically accurate than Protestantism? If Catholicism were truthful, then why does it oppose God, the very One it claims to follow? Why does Purgatory exist when there is no mention of it anywhere in the Bible? Paradise, Heaven, Hell, nor the Lake of Fire is considered Purgatory. Is it more Biblically accurate to pray to Mary, Jesus' brothers, friends, disciples, or anyone else who has gone on before, instead of going to God Himself directly through Jesus? If God's holy angels, sent by God Himself, said not to worship them, but to worship God (Revelation 19:10; Revelation 22:8-9), how much more a mortal man? Did Mary become God now? Mary cannot be immaculate because then it would contradict Romans 3:10-12 and Psalms 53:3. 1 Timothy 2:5 states, "For there is one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus." Is praying to Mary for intercession, not communicating with the dead? Is it not forbidden as well in Deuteronomy 18:11-12? If a person wants to get to Heaven, created by God Himself, do you think that God is going to allow you into Heaven except on anything but on His terms alone? Ephesians 2:8-9 states, "For by grace you are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God. Not of works, so that no man should boast." A person cannot sneak around Jesus, because He stands in the way, better yet, Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father but by Me." If Catholicism were truthful, then why does it say you can work your way to Heaven, when Jesus said that you cannot? If you are wanting to get into Heaven, that God created, then your works will leave you eternally separated from God on judgment day. Would you risk eternity basing your beliefs on something that God did not make, like Purgatory? Hebrews 9:27 states, "And just as it is appointed for man to die once, then comes judgment.." There is no mention of Purgatory in the Bible nor in Koine Greek. It is an unbiblical tradition passed on from man to man, not from God to man. Thinking you can live your life as you please, and then work it off in Purgatory, is ultimately like a slap in the face to Jesus. Why did Jesus die to forgive you of your sins, in order for you to be right with God, if you can just do it yourself? If Jesus did not take the punishment we, as sinners, deserved, then ultimately that individual who sinned against God, without being forgiven of their sins, will have to in Hell and the Lake of Fire. Can a person live like Hell or Satan, and expect to be welcomed into Heaven? Does a person diminish the holiness of God in order to exalt fallen man, including Mary? Wouldn't it be scary knowing you did everything in your power to be holy and right with God, and yet for Him to tell you on judgment day, "Depart from me you cursed, into the everlasting fire, prepared for the Devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41)? You worked all your life only to ignore what God had said about our works being like filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6), our works cannot save us, because we cannot do right or good, not even one person, except Jesus alone (Psalms 53:3 and Romans 3:10-12). If our works are as good as filthy rags, would God be pleased to accept our filthy rags in exchange for the forgiveness of our sins? Does baptism save a man from his or her sins? If it does, then you are again calling God a liar and Jesus' sacrifice is unnecessary. If faith is considered an action, then it contradicts the Bible (Ephesians 2:8-9), so faith is not an action but a belief. If baptism is claimed as an action that saves a person, is it not also contradictory to Ephesians 2:8-9? When you narrow your relationship with God down to a list of do's and don'ts, you really are not investing into getting to know God. As in any relationship, if all you do is just do this and don't do that in order to appease him or her, then are you really getting to know that person on a personal level? Is this not a shallow relationship, if a relationship at all? It is easy for one to say, "I left God" or "God did not work out for me," if you never had a personal relationship with God in the first place. It is said that Christianity is a religion, but it is actually more than that, it is a relationship with God through Jesus. It will be hard to understand the importance and necessity of Jesus, if all a person does is just follow a list of do's and don'ts. God has given us enough of His word for us to know what He wants us to know, that man has sinned against God but we can be made right with God through Jesus taking our punishment for us, and restoring our broken relationship with God. We are not perfect, our works are not perfect, and our death would not be enough to satisfy God's wrath, because we cannot offer perfection back to God, only Jesus can and did. If a person eliminates Christ from Christianity, then would it be accurate to claim that person is a Christian? If a person can make his or her own path to Heaven, then do they really need Jesus? The very word contains "Christ" in it. Catholicism takes Christ out of Christianity. A person better hope that a sinless, perfect, and holy God is lying or wrong, if one claims to follow God and yet does not listen to Him.

First off you wrote way too much for anyone to address, secondly did you actually listen to anything said in this video or other videos? You can have differences with the Catholic Church but still fully recognize Catholics as brothers and sisters in Christ because Jesus is the very center of their faith. Everything they do/teach flows from Jesus, I see you cite Ephesians 2:8-9 a couple of times but how would you square that with James 2:23-26 or Matthew 25:41-45? I don't think any Catholic that knows their stuff will argue that works save but that works are important. You can't claim to have faith in Jesus and then never do good works, faith in Christ is about believing and trusting in him and following his command to serve people. Edit:I see you cited Matthew 25:41 but it appears to be out of context, read the next few passages and you'll see that Matthew 25:41 is relating to the people who didn't feed, clothe, take care of, visit in prison those people in need.

Typical unchristian comments by an uninformed critic.Its one thing to argue from truth, but plain stupid to argue with your shallow Protestant propaganda that destroys credibility. Understand, that misinformation does not win arguments, so get your act together, as you are another reason not to consider the lies of Protestantism & empower our resolve. Protestants like to create the impression that they are very knowledgeable of the Bible, which I’ve discovered is a very selective knowledge indoctrinated into them to attack Catholicism. Ask if baptism is necessary Jn 3:5 & they’ll say it is optional & symbolic, insist on immersion which is not biblical & can’t answer how to baptise bedridden people. Neither should they rebaptise lapse Catholics as that is blasphemy, effectively saying that the first baptism wasn’t valid, how satanic! They deny the True Real Presence in the Eucharist that Jesus repeatedly describes Jn 6 51-58 & refuse to research Eucharistic miracles that God sends for doubters like them! The heretics then have the gall to claim permanent salvation when Paul in Phil 2:12 is working out his salvation with fear & trembling. Jesus founded His One True Church Mt 16 18-19 that became known as Catholic or Universal by Ignatius in 107, codified your bible in 382. His Church is the pillar & foundation of Truth 1 Tim 3:15 & has existed, in spite of sinful men, for 2000 yrs, proof of its divine origin. The fruits of sola Scriptura & personal interpretation, confusion, division & scandal of 000’s of sects when Jesus willed unity Jn 17 11-21. Try combining Sacred Tradition, which existed before the NT, from the time of Jesus with Sacred Scripture under the unifying authoritative interpretation of the magisterium, the balanced three legged stool, far more rational & objective No Protestant has ever been able to explain why personal interpretation, if guided by the Holy Spirit has resulted in 000’s sects proving that either the Holy Spirit is wrong or more likely, Protestantism! There are none so blind as those with a darkened intellect which the Holy Spirit obviously isn’t enlightening! Purgatory The concept of Purgatory does exist in Scripture which is very clear when it says, “But nothing unclean shall enter [heaven]” (Rev. 21:27). Hab. 1:13 says, “You [God]… are of purer eyes than to behold evil and cannot look on wrong…” How many of us will be perfectly sanctified at the time of our deaths? I dare say most of us will be in need of further purification in order to enter the gates of heaven after we die, if, please God, we die in a state of grace. Purgatory can be supported by II Maccabees 12:39-46, we discover Judas Maccabeus and members of his Jewish military forces collecting the bodies of some fallen comrades who had been killed in battle. When they discovered these men were carrying “sacred tokens of the idols of Jamnia, which the law forbids the Jews to wear” (vs. 40), Judas and his companions discerned they had died as a punishment for sin. Therefore, Judas and his men “turned to prayer beseeching that the sin which had been committed might be wholly blotted out… He also took up a collection… and sent it to Jerusalem to provide for a sin offering. In doing this he acted very well and honorably… Therefore he made atonement for the dead, that they might be delivered from their sin.” This may be why Luther removed Macabees from his bible & was tempted to do the same with the book of James Luke 12 35-48 servants rewarded/punished in varying ways 1 Jn 5 16-18 refers to deadly & deadly sin ie mortal & venial. For some Protestants to say that all sin is sin and to not differentiate between mortal sin like adultery and venial sin like stealing a dollar is illogical & a poor understanding Confession is in the bible Jn 20:23

Much of what you say is not true. The KJV, the Protestant Bible says in 2Thess2v15: 'Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.' I read my Bible every day, as do most of my Evangelical friends. And the early Church Fathers contradict one another often. Pope Pius IX said at his coronation 'I am another Jesus Christ.'

Of course the early church fathers had differinh opinions on various. What they did not disagree on was. Baptism is necessary for salvation. The church is ran by bishops who have apostolic succession The bishop of Rome is incharge. Confessing your sins and the bishop having the authority to forgive The real presence. All that catholic stuff They did not say: Once saved always saved Or that how you are saved is asking Jesus into your heart, make him your personal lord and saviour. Name it and claim it. @@vinceschenden7349 first of all he totally characterised what we believe. Our goal is to have everyone come to the knowledge of the truth. Just as Christ said. He desires that no one should perish. He offers the same arguments that all Catholics Did You all want to stay away from the bible and quote the church fathers. This guy is really is way off base. I'm offended that he says we twist scriptures. The truth is that everyone has the burden of proof FROM SCRIPTURE. He's actually confirming Sola scriptural. He said "they have to prove from scripture". That's the point, THE BIBLE is the standard from which to prove doctrines, teachings, etc. using the standard that he says, scripture, then Catholicism is not proven in scripture. Now on 2 These. I don't know why you all quote that scripture. That scripture says "stand fast and hold". That does not imply to keep adding traditions. Paul also said "keep the tradition AS I delivered them". Did Paul deliver the rosary? Or any of the modern church's traditions. Truth is Jesus and Paul spoke against traditions of men. There are about 13 mentions of tradition in scripture. Of those 11 are speaking negatively about traditions. Both Jesus and Paul. Nothing different here than the usual propaganda. Nothing really scriptural about Catholicism. Matthew 16 does not mention a particular religion or denomination. The RCC is just playing fill in the blank. There is absolutely no proof that Jesus, Mary or any of the apostles were EVER Roman Catholic. If you read Peter's epistles you would not come to that conclusion. Mary? Simple fact that she did not baptize Jesus as an infant. She also offered a sin sacrifice for herself. Most Catholics don't want to know why. If they do, they ignore it. I leave it to you to tell me. Now on the rock, or Peter. Scripture clearly says that Christ is the rock. I know one thing and that is that there are not two rocks in scripture. One thing on sola scriptural. Why does scripture say not to add to take from scripture. Paul also said not to go beyond what is written. And what does this scripture mean. Isaiah said "to the law and to the testimony, if they speak not ACCORDING TO THIS WORD, it is because there is no light in them." Now you refute what I pointed out . I used scripture just as he said. Now you show me where the word catholic even appears in the bible. That's the standard he said. A standard that is the only way to prove if something is true or not.

20:47? What rubbish ! 20:51 protestant missionaries go to foreign countries to promote the gospel to mankind not to attack roman Catholics , that is just a plain lie from a supposedly true church that makes the claim that it is the only one providing the gospel. My in-laws are roman Catholic and they not only will not converse about their beliefs but they also do not know why they believe as they do , only that the church tells them what to believe and they are happy with that. If you care to read the scriptures , all believers are called to be disciples and to spread the word of God to the nations , not just a select few people , all of the born again believers in Christ. 2 Timothy 3:15-17 tells you what scripture is to be used for and you will find the gospel is to be given to the people of the world who need to hear it and sadly there are believers who get stuck in a religious body that tells them what to believe. Acts 17:11 tells us to question everything and that includes videos of the " we are truthful and they are not " variety.

There are multiple problems with this challenge. First, pasa graphē ordinarily would be translated “every scripture” (pasa generally means “every” rather than “all” before a singular noun like graphē). “Every scripture” would be a reference to each individual book of Scripture. Further, in the Bible the word “scripture” (singular) refers to an individual book or passage. The inspired books as a whole are “the scriptures” (plural), not “scripture.” But Paul couldn’t mean each individual book is sufficient for doctrine. Otherwise, you could do theology by “Genesis alone,” “Isaiah alone,” and so forth. Second, Paul says the books are useful toward certain goals, includ- ing teaching. But being useful merely means that something makes a contribution-not that it is uniquely and exclusively sufficient. Third, although the scriptures contribute to the goal of making the man of God “complete, equipped for every good work,” they aren’t the only things he needs. He also needs holiness, the charisms of the Holy Spirit, the correct understanding of the texts, and so on. The texts are not sufficient by themselves. Fourth, sola scriptura would only have been applicable after the apostles’ deaths (see Day 5), but Paul is not telling Timothy something new and meant to apply only after his death. He is saying something that was true then and had been true all along. He articulates this principle immediately after reminding Timothy that he had known the sacred scriptures (plural) from his youth (v. 15). This referred to the Old Testament, and Paul’s principle was true when only the Old Testament existed, before any New Testament books were written. Christians living before any New Testament book was penned were still obliged to accept the elements of the Christian faith not found in the Old Testament. They didn’t only become obligatory upon being written (2 Tim. 2:15). It is likely 2 Timothy was not the last New Testament book written, yet Paul expected Timothy to apply the principle immediately-not wait until after Paul and all the other apostles were dead.

This seriously misreads the passage regarding the Bereans. The context for the Berean incident is found in Acts 17:1-10. When Paul and Silas initially visited the Macedonian city of Thessalonica, they began preaching and making converts, which led to conflict with some in the Jewish community: “And taking some wicked fellows of the rabble, they gathered a crowd, set the city in an uproar, and attacked the house of Jason, seeking to bring them out to the people” (Acts 17:5). They then dragged Jason and some of the new Christians before the city authorities, charging them with sedition against Caesar (Acts 17:6-7). The situation was so alarming that the Thessalonian Christians hurriedly sent Paul and Silas away by night (when traveling was not safe) to the nearby city of Berea. The non-Christian Jews in Thessalonica remained so opposed to Paul that they sent men to pursue him to Berea and incite the crowds against him, forcing him to flee at once to Athens (Acts 17:13-15). That is the background against which the statement that the Bereans were more “noble” (other translations: “open-minded”) than the Thessalonians. The contrast is not between credulous Thessalonians, who accepted whatever Paul said without evidence, and skeptical Bereans, who demanded proof from Scripture. It is between actively hostile Thessalonians and Bereans who “received the word with all eagerness” (Acts 17:11). This is no prooftext for sola scriptura. Paul’s message did not include merely things found in the Old Testament Scriptures. It included the many new elements of the Christian faith. What the Bereans did was confirm the basic elements of his message (i.e., the fact that Jesus fulfilled messianic prophecy) and then proceeded to accept all the new, unwritten teachings that were part of it (e.g., baptism, the Eucharist, the inclusion of Gentiles in God’s people without circumcision). In short, they accepted the whole of apostolic Tradition after confirming the core elements of the Christian message with Scripture. To follow their example, we should do the same.
