Before you buy one of the imitations, I highly recommend that you watch those topics that I identify as "Important" above. The focus error and water resistance results are particularly interesting to me.

Except as noted in the video, the tests were conducted with the imitation ACOGs in stock configuration as they came from the factory (i.e. these test results are without a corrective lens in place).

I am looking at some of the inexpensive prismatic scopes for an air rifle. Will objects as close as 15-20' be in focus or is the parallax to bad to focus at that distance? I saw your video's on using a 2.5 corrective lens. Thanks for sharing.

I can't say for sure about a scope made specifically for an air rifle, there may be models intended for those closer ranges. It depends partly on the focusing range of your eye. On these ACOGs and fake ACOGs, 35' is about the closet usable distance for me but someone that didn't need reading glasses could probably focus through the scope on something closer.

@@Eric1Tube Thanks for the reply. Most of my rifles and PCP air guns have regular variable power scopes from $150-500. Most will focus down to less than 10 yds, but they have adjustable parallax. Most of my shooting would be from 10-50yds with my PCP air rifles. I was hoping they would be a good, light alternative to almost 2# scopes. I guess I'll have to order one of the prismatics and take my chances. Thanks again.
