I don't think it's a Finless problem, but I have been in the market for a new stick for a while now, and your videos have been amazing. Thanks again!!!!

Great review as always. I ordered the QX1 last week so it's still in the mail, according to tracking info. Ordered it from Geekbuying despite their reviews on Facebook. As for cooling with 1080p, Amazon sells a wide variety of component coolers just FYI. With the metal case, I can see why an external antenna would give better performance. Keep up the good work.

Oh yea, I received the QX1 on July 6 and could see right away that it was in need of some extra cooling. So I ordered some small heatsinks from Amazon and I found a large ( 2"x2"x 1.25" ) heatsink from one of my old computers I had in the garage . I dabbed a little heatsink compound on top of the QX1 and tied it down with a cable tie. The ones from Amazon were self adhesive so I applied them to the bottom. Now it shows no sign of heat on the case at all .

Thanks again for another great review. Your reviews cuts down a lot of research time. So far I still like CX-919 performance based on your AMP reviews. My only worries is the heat which can affect performance. Heat is also the #1 hardware killer. I think I understand why you haven't reviewed the ROMs with XBMC as it seems there's no true hardware support for the RK3188 AMP.

Yes, I will be reviewing the Ouya but mine hasn't arrived yet. Im pretty annoyed because I ordered it back in December as an original kick starter backer and I could have walked into the store and bought it and gotten it quicker.

I like the QX1 better because it has a 1080p kernel and is easy to cool. All the 1080 kernels make these AMPs get pretty warm.

The heat sync came out of an old Pentium 2 computer from Micron. I don't think you can buy it. Any CPU heat sink will work though with or without a fan.

I saw that Bob received his QX1 in late May. Has he stated anything to you about the progress of a Finless Rom for this device? I'm on the fence trying to decide which one to purchase. I love the external, built-in antenna on the CX-919, but the optional antenna on the QX1 seems even better, but no Finless yet for it. Thanks for the review vids, btw. They were a major factor in my previous purchases. Yeah, I'm a geek for Geekbuying. Too many cool gadgets.....lol

Get the latest Finless ROM for it. That should fix a lot of issues. There's a link to it in the video description.

Good choice. Yes right now a lot of 3188 devices running 4.2.2 still have a few issues. The ZX1 is pretty good. Plus thinkgs are getting addressed pretty quickly. its hard to change all the software and hardware at the same time. I don't know what we would do without Finless Bob. He deserves an award. I think everyone should send him a couple of bucks on his donation link on freaktab.

Forgot to mention I use a power strip plugged into a remote control switch I found at Lowes that I normaly use for controling Christmas lights. Sure beats getting out of bed to plug in the QX1 and the powered usb hub.

as far as wifi yes, but it doesn't have a 1080p kernel available right now.

Thanks for the review. Does not having root mean that you can't use an NTFS formatted external drive? (I've heard you need to install rooted software to do this).

I bought the iMito QX1 few days ago, and found out the video performance (youtube) is not so great as it has some 'lag'. This never happened on my MK808B.

I just got it, I hooked it up but I am not sure what to do? Isn't it suppose to boot up directly to the os? What I instantly got was a window saying Complete Action using Launcher or LauncherNew. I haven't received my remote yet for the input. I am little confused, I am new at this, I saw your video and the QX1 looks cool but I can't start it now that I got it, do you wht I should do.

Hey Guys, I've got this stick and it works great, but I have some problems: -I've done a factory reset and after rebooting, I could not turn the wifi on (disconnecting and reconnecting the power supply helped). -There are some games which run perfectly on phone but partially give error code on QX1. (only approximately the half of the Slot City slots are running) Question is, may a firmware update or custom rom solve these? Thanks for replies, peace, F

Hi: How do I flash the iMito QX1 i am using Windows 8 Pro 64 Bit. I try flash it by using a pin and OTG port and i does work and the computer says it can't recognized the device, I also try install the drivers for it but not luck. I also try the usbmass and debugging and when I use a pin to click the reset button i don't hear or feel any clicking. Can you please help. Thanks

Some windows 8 pcs with certain USB chip sets have known problems connecting. I have one that can't connect no matter what I do. I've spent probably 10 hours on it. My advice is try a different machine

I would say head over to freaktab.com and check for a recovery post. You could try flashing new firmware that would be where I would start.
