If he gets a 5th gen, he needs to get a ‘16 or ‘17. OEM stacks are the best so he wouldn’t need to replace them with aftermarket ones. Edit: s1k and m1k have better power up top. Zx10r has better down low power. I know because I have raced both an s1k and m1k on my 2016 zx10r lol.

I just sold my 21' ZX10R. I had put 8k miles on it and honestly it didn't live up to my expectations. I had an SC on it which sounded amazing but the quickshifter felt awful to me. The 2016-20 model is one I would like to try. Looking to get a Panigale V4 or R1M here next.

Is the quick shifter being awful a common thing ppl say about the 2021 year? I want to get a 2021 zx10. Coming from a bike with no quick shifter how different is riding with it?

@@james-cv4dj Yeah it's a common issue. Many of us had our bikes tuned to make it better but it never got figured out as far as I know. With that being said, the quickshifter being "awful" is anecdotal. If you haven't had a bike with a quickshifter in the past then you would still enjoy the 21' ZX10 just because you really won't know what you're missing out on. After having bikes with quickshifters I never really want to go back. Quickshifting and auto blipper feels incredible and makes riding sportbikes 10x better. I've had an S1K and GSXR 1000R and both of those felt buttery and worlds better than the quickshifter on my ZX10R.

Personal opinion here:If you’re gonna get a zx10 for the track just get the R so you cant keep using the excuse of “its a special edition bike i cant mess it up”. Its a track bike. You’re gonna be at a track where you will be genuinely pushing the bike and your limits. Sometimes it’s beyond one, the other, or both and things happen. Expect that theres always that potential at the track something is going to get messed up and need to be fixed. Also I think it would be cool to see what you would do differently to personalize a non special model bike as opposed to just carbon fiber fender/bodywork accents and titanium bolts

Have you seen the new gen 40th anniversary zx10rr? The purple one is straight heat (only a limited number of them, less than the 500 a year of the standard green one) but i like the all green standard one. Dream bike!
