The Satisfactory 1.0 update or full release version is out and today I'll be starting a new let's play going through the entire story, then beyond!
With 1.0 we know what the Mercer Sphere and Somersloops are for, what SAM does, and there are tons of new items that change everything!
Today we're finishing the Control Center then starting our first nuclear fuel rod production - Nitric Acid! We'll be looking to make 4905 /min using 48 blenders, drones, and a million pipes!

At 20:20 you are trying to arrange pipes to stay out of the way using auto instead of vertical to horizontal. But if you use vertical to horizontal and connect the pipe from the machine to the hole instead of hole to the machine it will go straight up from the machine, then run across the foundation to the pipe and save tons of room whilst also looking badass. The vertical direction always prioritises before horizontal so depending where you start your pipe work is where the vertical starts.

@ I’m hoping it’s correct now. I’ve not played for a while but I’m sure when I did my turbo power plant piping I used this trick. If someone could confirm that would be great
@xnylon2841

@@TheBrownsword yep this is totally correct, priority direction changes depending on which end of the pipe you build first
@geflut
@geflut Күн бұрын
yes, it prioritize the vertical direction, but most importantly, it minimizes the number of bends. That trick works when at least 2 bends are necessary (starting point and end point both poiting up for example). Here going up first and following the fondation would make 3 bends instead of one, so you will not get a different result

for the blenders, with horizontal to vertical mode on the pipes, depending on the side you start at, the pipe will either go over the floor, or on the groud, so maybe if you connect them from blender -> floorhole instead of floorhole -> blender, itll still look neat, but will be out of the way of the item input :D

To any aspiring player watching this - Kibs builds on a massive scale that is far far beyond anything needed to 'beat' the game. He's doing it because he is insane and crazy people like to do crazy things on KZbin for views. You will not be building anything like this on your initial playthrough. This is one of the best video games ever made; do not be intimidated by Mr. Kibs' mental illness.

@cheesesniper473

They are actually kind of terrible. Uranium is better, Plutonium is the best. If you do a lot of drone ports, i suggest just feeding the drone ports with plutonium fuel rods, especially if they go a very long way. I also suggest auto-producing iodized filters and have them hooked up to a dim depot. The best part about plutonium fuel rods is they get used very slowly by the drone ports, so you can easily just use the nuclear plant to power your drones, transport the plutonium over the ocean, and do all the work there, so you never have to worry about radioactivity. Also if you use them to power drone ports, they do NOT produce any waste. I found in my full playthrough where i 100% the game, that you lose about 30-40% of the potential nuclear power output by not burning plutonium rods. Also a matrix of about 100 large storage containers puts your max storage at about 3 days in game run time before they fill up. And it's not hard to BP a matrix of hundreds. Once you get the Ficsonium, you just simply match production to waste, and the plutonium waste never builds up. And if you don't overclock the ficsonium plant, you get like 1200 MWh of power extra. So the Ficsonium plant isn't going to net you much of anything due to the machinery used to make them, and the fact they don't contain much energy. It's just a way to deal with Plutonium waste, which is from the best fuel source in game.

Office Room Idea: Maybe a map? Like I'm not sure what decor ideas you can do in the late game, but what if it was a big map of the world on an office table, and it had 'pins' to light up the locations where all the fuel was coming from, and where the rods, uranium and waste was going? Or even a modern permanent version of your planning hut. Loving the series man, it's giving me a reason to open this every day praying for a new episode :)

Front Blender Pipes: Why not path a extra shallow ditch between the machines for the belts alone? You can have multiple belts feeding into the logistic space and then layered on top is the pipes. Also, seemed like there may have been enough space to make a walking path between the blenders. I'd say you got 4 rows of 12 columns, so splitting the rows in half just a smidge .. however that's a lot of re-working I'd assume you'd not want to bother with rn lol

hey Kibitz as always im deep in awe with the way you build but i dont know if you know but when you build pipes vertically to horizontally they behave a little different if you build for bottom to top. so if you connect your pipes to the blender and do it Blender to Ceiling the pipes will have their 90° directly under the ceiling instead of on the ground. maybe thats the solution youre seeking

The blender pipe that goes at an angle could be squared if it travelled sideways across the ceiling of the pipe tunnel, then went down to the input. While I do love incorporating angles into builds (22.5 degrees is a magic number), your style and the way the pipes work, as well as the position of this particular setup, make the right angles the better option, I think. However, as it's an area that won't usually be seen, and that modification would be a lot more effort to build (in terms of clicks, specifically), it could certainly be left as-is. The main benefit is that if you do that you could probably fit a catwalk above the splitters with minimal clipping, and, well, who doesn't love walkable crawlspaces? Provided the surroundings even let you get a walkway down to there.

23:40 That bug is probably related to the outline of the machines! Typically outlines in videogames are done by creating another instance of the model, scaling it slightly and by shader magic making it be rendered behind everything else and also a specific color , so it doesnt surprise me that messing with the colors that get passed to the shader makes that happen, neat!
