This is very good arranging. This sounds like it could be twice as many musicians as there are.

This was amazing. The feeling of being amongst the performers and hearing all of the nuances of the performance distinct from one another was something else. Not something I’ve felt in great recordings of the same material. Now I need to listen to everything like this. I feel spoiled

Binaural audio is awesome! But this video would be even better if the camera was between the "ears". That way vision and sound would match and give an even more immersive feeling. Well played by the musicians by the way. This is one of my favourite classical pieces since I was a little child.

I heard about the theory that the brains gets their front/back information from moving the head slightly (left, right). When moving to left then sound in front of you get a bit louder in the right ear and softer in the left ear. Sounds in back of you do the opposite. May be the recording head do this move now and then. Important in that case is that the video should contain a colored spot (that follows the movement of the head) so the listener can follow that spot and the brains get alligned to the sound.

simply amazing, why is this not catching up?
@Jadinandrews6 жыл бұрын
Because you have to play real instruments, something few artists do these days. Also I imagine you have to record everything in one go, it is probably not easy to mix different tracks without spoiling the binaural effect.
@JeanIbarz6 жыл бұрын
Yup it's just like video 3D : adding a 3rd dimension complexify creation.... need more skills, need more time. Also, 3D video is more easy to do then 3D audio as for now.
@tuunaes6 жыл бұрын
Jadin, actually it would be possible to make binaural recordings from "normally" recorded instrument tracks.It simply needs mathematical modeling of wanted space with its acoustics, setting sound source locations and then using HRTF algorithm to get left and right ear channels. That's how PC games calculate sounds, except for that HRTF part.
@SpaghettiToaster5 жыл бұрын
@@tuunaes "simply", lol. You'd need to correctly model (numerically approximate, really) the accoustics of the room and the human ear. This would require immense computing power, a perfect 3d model of the room (and everyone inside it) and even animated models of the instruments if they move. Absolutely infeasible.
@tuunaes5 жыл бұрын
@SpaghettiToaster, your brain is sure limited, but DSP ASICs were doing environment acoustic modeling already over 25 years ago: web.archive.org/web/20090320094836/technology.arc.nasa.gov/success/successfiles/3DAudioSysConvolvotron_1992.pdf Aureal then bought that Crystal River Engineering and commercialized tech into PC sound cards some years later: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYrGY6OFec6Nnbcm10s If Microsoft hadn't killed DirectSound and sound hardware acceleration, we would no doubt have sound cards capable to processing upward thousand 3D positioned sound sources in quite accurate environment model and giving very realistic sound immersion with headphones. But after WinXP Microsoft dumbed down PC game sounds to push their X-box and PC games sounds are still in phase equivalent to graphics of original Quake. Also movie industry certainly has their solutions for mixing movie sounds. Dolby Atmos and DTS equivalent are now also moving movie sounds from handfull of fixed channels to format including 3D positioned audio objects.

Must be recorded in a seting with less reververation. The reverberation gives a nice sense of space, as an xy mic ortf configuration. But made difficult to feel the timbres and the size of the imstruments.

Where can i read more about the type of equipment used to record this? Binaural is great but it seems like this recording didn't use ear shaped funnels as it is not possible to identify if sound is coming from above or below which does make this a less than perfect immersive experience.
@Maxtutubo3 жыл бұрын
The Binaural Head Dummie need the read wave more approached for take the positional 3-D sound information. The sound in this take is only one approximation for the natural acoustic human perception. Approach the musicians from the rear wall of the scenary for the maximum best results. The Binaural microphonics and the natural ears needs the direct and the reflect waves sounds for locate the origin of sound. Sorry for my poor English.

1 Arrangement of the suite is charmingly lovely, der Walzer has bit Vienna Atmosphere. Too sad for the omission of the dance of sugar plum fairy since there was a pianist. 2 Today's smartphone are equipt with stereo speakers, so this binarual recording will eventually get bigger sinse the need arise.

I like this very much, but I would appreciate it if the original flacs were made available. I'm not convinced that KZbin's compression and loudness compensation algorithm does this kind of recording any justice. It sounds good but the dynamic range is lacking.

Hi Jadin. KZbin does not support CD quality uploads nor does Vemeo. The only way that I can see meeting your needs is by selling the program. Would you consider paying for such programs? ImmersAV technology has two programs currently available. Please see www.immersav.com/store

Robert Schulein - Binaural AV Recordings Hi Robert, thank you for your reply. I think it's a shame really, KZbin supports 4k 60fps video and they're experimenting with 8k now, but they have not given audio any love. I'll definitely consider buying the software, thanks.
