Hi, had an important question, I am from south India n most South Indians doesn't have surname/family name, my indian passport has given name as "Alexander Parx" , but my canadian work permit, SIN everything has my full name in Surname field and first name field blank. But to open a canadian bank account first name is mandatory for bank- so question here is should I have my name split to first name- Alexander and last name - parx or first name - Alexander parx and last name- Alexander parx(repeating name in both fields) . Bank suggests these two options n they are ok with either. As a lawyer would you suggest the best option to choose please ?

Name can be doubled in many cases.Can also splited and even first name made as xxx .I had this issue .I got citizenship also

Please note you can’t have different names in different documents. So you basically need to have it changed to one standard name for all docs. However, as Sekar rightly noted, you can very well have just first name or surname, but for the ease and convenience, it’s better to have Alexander as first name and Parx as Surname.
