After all my travels, the stress of processing all my files, I would still wish na mas maluwag ang immigration officers natin at hindi nila tinatrato na less than human yung ibang Filipino applicants. Sinasabi ng iba, kung wala ka namang masamang gagawin, bakit ka kakabahan? Wow. Daming Filipino na sincere yung goal na magtravel with all the files pero di nakalagpas. Sinasabi wag kabahan. Pero paano yung mga may officially diagnosed na may anxiety?? Hindi pa ako naooffload. Pero I would still wish na mas maluwag sila and ayusin nila yung tono nila. Yung boyfriend ko na French tinanong siya kung saan sya magsstay sa Philippines. Galing siyang France tapos papunta siya dito. He is very privileged. Pero dun ako nainis sa immgration. Immigration: Where will you stay? French BF: I don't understand you. I don't speak English. Outcome: NAKAPASOK SIYA. Nakapasok siya eventhough napaka blase nung sagot nung BF ko. Kung Filipino yan? Sasagu sagutin na yan ng IO

I love how detail the story is. First of all, it is normal for IO to ask kung saan po kayo nagwo-work. They just simply want to ask if you have a reason to go back to the Philippines. This will surely entail follow up requirements like company ID, COE, and pay slip kaya hinihingi. Much better kung isang tanong, isang sagot lang lagi. Wala ng palabok sa mga sinasabi. Kapag tinanong may work ka, sabihan mo lang oo. Kapag tinanong anong work, sabihin mo lang position mo sa work. Ganyan lang. Tapos agree ako kay Sidney, much better if you print all your documents na ire-ready niyo for IO. Para hindi na mag-scroll sa phone kapag andun na sa IO.

Thank you for this. Pupunta ako sa taipei this june to witness the dragon boat festival and first time ko din internationally and solo trav. I'm a remote worker kaya plan ko din talaga mag prepare ng sobra gaya mo. Pero thank you kasi dahil sa video na to I now know im on the right track. And yes, i'm aware mahigpit ang IOs natin lalo for Thailand. Gaya ng sabi mo, may mga pinoy na di umuuwi. Yun nga, yung College prof, red flag yun. Kahit nga hindi teachers dito sa atin, pwede maging teacher dun. Another na pwede rin na naging red flag for you i think is yung pagiging super prepared. Tama ka, if it makes you feel more kalmado and organized, good. Tingin ko, najustify naman yung pagiging super prepared mo nung nasabi mo na nag aayos ka ng weddings. Maiisip ni IO na kaya ka ganun na lang kaprepared kasi you do it for work. Pero if not for that, red flag sa IOs yung madami kang dala dalang eme. Alam din kasi nila kung pano magprepare ang mga walang balak umuwi. COEs and payslips, madalas yan hingiin ng IOs. Kasi strong ties ang employment at gusto nila makita kung may panggastos ka ba talaga para gumala. They really ask questions kahit pa may print outs ka na to see the consistency of your answers and way mo kung gano ka kaconfident sumagot. Thank you kasi in spite of what happened to you, you understand what IOs do. This is a very informative vlog. Thank you ulit. Sana marami makanood.😊

Thank you, Chula! Actually hindi nila alam na prepared ako as in when I stepped sa booth binigay ko lang yung passport and yung itinerary plus the hotel bookings. As in wala akong dalang folder that time kasi nga confident naman ako. When I noticed something wrong kasi antagal-tagal na niya ako tinitignan and andami na niyang tina-type doon na ako nagka-hint na may something wrong, kaya binaba ko na yung bag ko and opened the docs. I had fun watching this i like that you are so oc hehe 😊 tbh tinatanong talaga nila yung job or background mo lalo na pag solo traveler. In my experience way back tinanong pa nila kung may hmo kami hiningi pa mismo yung copy. And magkano salary. So its better to be ready lang kasi it will always depend on the IO and the convo with the IO. If they feel na may redflag definitely they will ask more. Tama na dont be nervous, be confident, be ready. Kung wala ka naman gagawin illegal then yes dapat maging confident lang… 😊

Hi Sidney! Thanks for this video and I appreciate a lot. I will be flying to Thailand this coming March for a K-Pop music festival and I will stay for 3 days. This will be my first international travel ko and solo traveler lang ako. At least, medyo mabawasan ng lite yung worries ko when it comes to immigration since almost all the possible documents ay meron na ako. I have my work documents prepared na rin since I'm working on BPO company for 3 years. I agree na mas okay yung may hardcopy and softcopy ng mga documents so you can provide those when needed. Sana makapasa ako sa IO when the travel day comes.

Other countries dont care where You head out.. ONLI INDA PILIPINs io na Parang mga magulang na cant let you go out of the house you need to explain & do things first bago ka payagan. Sa mga worried at ayaw na laging nadaan ng ph io, try to travel next time from country to another country.. tawid sa ibang country ex from pinas to taiwan to korea to sg to borneo etc then back to ph pra isang ph immig departure lng at sure hnd yan madaming anxiety moment... advantage pag madaming bansa puntahan.. i went to Thailand 2x from HK wala akong naalalang bad sad experienced. hnd sila mag ask san ka punta kase palabas kana sa hk. I did the same thing super dami kung dinala na documents and it's my first time travel outside the country. As in double copy talaga Ng mga papers ko then I bring the same plastic folder pero I just hide it in my back pack then I just took it out from my bag when they ask the documents..and it works talaga cause they really determine to scare you and to off load you even may may proper documents Kang Dala..gladly even super kabado nako I fight for it and now I'm happy spending my 28 days here in Thailand ❤️..most of all keep on praying.

First international travel ko din ang Thailand back in 2019. Since it was my first time , na-hold din ako sa Immigration for a secondary interview. Meaning, pinapunta ako sa next office kung saan ang dami din nahold. Like you , I was also prepared as in madami din akong niprint na docs at malaking bagay nga yun kasi naging consistent ang answers ko to the questions of the IO. Dumating pa nga sa point na hinanapan pa ako ng pictures with my friends to prove na friend ko talaga sila. Of course, I was prepared din for that. I had prepared all the photos sa phone gallery ko that time, Hahaha But the IO was not satisfied kaya pinabukas ang FB ko para dun makita talaga yung history ng friendship namin. Imagine that! Hahaha Nung second travel ko going to SG, ganun pa rin, prepared pa rin for all the docs. Fortunately, wala na hinanap sa kin. Rather, nakita ng IO na consistent pa rin yung sagot ko dati. First: I still have the same job. Second: bumalik ako sa Pinas based on my declaration kung kailan ako babalik ng Pinas. Ibig sabihin, nakikita ng mga IO ang record mo kung ano ang mga ideclare mo bago umalis ng bansa. Bago nga tatakan ng IO ang passport, he gave me a piece of advice: Maganda ang travel record mo. Wag mo sisirain. Hahaha

Nice story time. it ended on a positive note, you were able to travel and you reminded the viewers that IOs are just doing their job. mejo nakakastress yung interrogation sa yo, I feel like that same thing would've happened to me if natanong ako about my job kasi teacher din ako and freelancer pa. Red flag kasi talaga yun lalo sa first timers. Kaya when I write my occupation on the departure card, I always write "Online Instructor" or "ESL tutor" instead. Luckily, never pa ako naquestion about my job and salary. Kakagaling ko lang rin from Thailand last week. Nakakaworry yung dami ng horror offload stories online pero ayun ok naman. wala namang maraming questions sa kin. Kung first time ko lang, which isn't. When yung last travel date. Kelan balik ko and sino kasama. Yun lang. Hehe. Nakatulong rin siguro na meron na kong travel history including South Korea na visa-required country. Regarding airbnb, I booked an airbnb nung 1st time sa Thailand back in 2015. Wala namang problem sa IO. Not sure now post-pandemic. Baka nga bawal na. Naghotel na rin kami this time para sure. I get your point about being prepared. Nakakabawas tlg siya ng anxiety. But in my case, hindi ko piniprint kasi ayoko rin magmukhang overprepared. I just keep screenshots, pics, and docs in one folder sa phone ko if ever hingin. But anyway yes kanya kanya lang diskarte, like u said wala namang mawawala if u print all those. :) ~ Thanks. Thank you for the tips 'coz me and my husband will be first time travellers as well. We're planning to go to Bangkok this Nov. para matatakan ang passport. We have a 3-week travel to Norway early next year sponsored by my friend living there. Now I know what documents to bring even Thailand lang ang aming travel. Akala ko simple lang parang nag Boracay or Palawan ka lang pero marami pala silang hinahanap to prove that you will not be an illegal alien in their country. COE, payslips from the bank where I work for 26 years maybe will suffice them plus my husband is working in a multinational pharma. Anyways, being OC is very helpful talaga to prevent anxiety! 😉

This is accurate. First timer din ako last 2016 going to Thailand. I am a bisexual and ang purpose ko tlga is to meet my Thai gf.. 2016 pa yun pero very strict na ang mga I.O. 2 weeks before flight ko nagresearch na ako at nalaman ko ang term na offload. So, nag ready din ako, detailed din kagaya nyo sir. Nag print ako ng business permit at dti, pero din akong ginawang invitation letter na ako lang din ang gumawa, pinaprint ko sa gf ko at pinapicturan uli then I printed it. Roundtrip ang ticket ko but 1month yun. Ang address nilagay ko sa gf ko. Complete name at address nya sa TH. I have every docs ready in case tlga cos first time ko nagbase lang ako sa mga nababasa ko that time. At totoo nga, na hold ako ng 30mins at ang flight ko in 40mins din lipad na ang daming tanong at kada tanong humihinto tlga ung officer na naginterview sakin ung tipong nagpapatay ng oras. 2 na lang kame nun sa office ung isa 2nd time na nya bound to hk naman sya we've talked nung nasa queue kame ng check in pa lang and she asked me sa purpose ng flight ko, sinabihan pa nya ako maooffload ako dahil sa dami ko daw dala compare sa kanya na 3days lang ang binooked at ako 1month. Then she actually discouraged me but tikom lang bibig ko at pray. During interview, at payo ko tlga be confident, may mga tanong tlga na unnecessary at I don't know hindi ako sinungaling na tao pero nung time na un nakagawa ako ng kwento sa mga tanong nya sakin (i.o) hindi ko pala sinabing gf ko pupuntahan ko sabi ko lang na friend, then he started to asked how did we met? At first, really, nde ko alam pano sagutin pero bigla na lang akong nagcome up ng story na hindi totoo, i said from my aunt she worked in TH a year ago in a hotel with my gf then retired na kako ang aunt ko at dahil closed friend cla halos araw2x sila magkavideo call at pinakilala ako. Then next question anong name ng hotel at omg no idea ako sa mga names ng hotel noon sa TH lalo so I invented right away, dapat pagkatanong sagot din agad wag ung tipong naghahanap kpa ng sasagutin at eye to eye contact din nakakakaba pero wag ipapahala ang niyerbyos. He asked many questions until it reached 30mins, i told the I.O na Iam coming back kc ako mag eenroll sa mga pamangkin ko sa school but I am an only child so I just said that to him. I convinced him more na baka nga kako hindi ko na paabutin sa isang buwan ang bakasyon ko sa TH kako dahil ang business ko tita ko lang kako ang naiwan. Grabe ang interview sakin daming tanong kung san2x sa TH napunta hanggang tinatakan na nya ang paper nun supervisor sya actually, paper yun na to approve ako then after nun he told me to go back to the queue sa I.O para matatakan passport ko. Ung kasabay ko nun na girl 1mins lang sya ininterview offload tlga sya yung nagdidiscouraged sakin nun eh. So, glad that nakapasa ako sa experience na ito.

I will be on my first international travel din this March 2023 and medyo oc din ako as you are and ma overthink din so I try to simulate all things in my head as early as now and ready everything haha! This video is a huge help since I don't know kung pano system sa pag pila sa IO and nakita ko na ganun pala na isang pila lang tas kung san mabakante, dun ka mapupunta. Akala ko pwede talaga mamili ng IO. 🤣 Then dagdag pa sa anxiety ko is kung pano ko sasagutin yung question pag about sa work since my only job is I'm a freelancer. I know many say na instead of saying 'freelancer', just say what the actual job is being a freelancer. Kaya lang hindi ko pa alam irerebut ko kapag sinabi na what if di na ako umuwi since remote work nga. Di nalang ako magdadala ng laptop para less suspicion haha balak ko kasi sana magdala laptop pero since 4D3N lang yung trip, hindi naman na din wise maglaptop pa since wala na time haha! Kunte nga lang yang dala mo sir kesa sa dala ko last travel 🤣. Siguro mga x6 ng kapal nyang sayo 🤣🤣. Pang 10th travel ko na nga yun international. Pero everytime lumalabas ako mas mabuti ng overprepared kesa magpaka as if na frequent traveller. Ang ending iilang docs lang hinanap sakin. At tama kung wala namang gagawin masama wala dapat ikatakot. Usually po kasi pag 1st time travel madami tanong. 1 out of 10 lang siguro sa mga first time traveller ang natatakan agad. Isa rin ingat2 sa kilos pag nasa linya kana sa immig. Di lang natin napapansin nagmamasid na yan sila. Possible nkita ka na nag vivideo sa pila kaya nka mata na yan sila sa iyo. Bawal kasi talaga yun. Possible lang naman. Then siguro tama ka yung sa nasagot mo na trabaho mo which is yun yung mga pinaka red flag papuntang thailand. Kaya minsan nakaka tulong talaga ang pagiging over prepared. Congrats po at sana nag enjoy kayo sa thailand

Case to case basis talaga sa Immigration, kasi we just came back po from a Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur trip with my mom. Ako po VA tas si mama public teacher at puro first timer pa kaming dalawa. Yung flight namin papuntang BKK 5pm at super crowded ang immigration parang may concert sa dami ng tao and I think isa yun sa factor kung bakit ni walang tanong si IO samin, tiningnan lang nya passport ko, accomm (AirBnb), and return ticket. Ganun din kay mama at siguro kasi may leave of absence si mama from DepEd kaya wala ng tinanung sa kanya. Andami pa naming printed documents din nun sa ka OA-han di naming dalawa pero walang hinanap. Thankful naman kami na ganun. I think pag di talaga masyadong maraming tao dun nagkakaron ng chance si IO mang ukray 😅 mostly sa nasearch kong offload stories eh yung di masyadong maraming tao sa immigration eh..observation ko lang. kaya sabi ko naswertehan talaga kami ni mama tsaka next time dun tayo parin tayo sa time na busy ang immigration haha

Parang binabantayan nila yung solo at first time traveler..kaya d pa rin maalis ang kaba ko pag dating sa immigration kahit nag singapore at malaysia na ako nung 2018..mag thailand ako this year pero bakit may kaba pa...maangas kc magtanong mga immigration..tanong sakin kung may pera daw ako nung fisrt time ko na lumabas..parang non sense yung tanong..bat d na lang itinanong kung ilang titulo ng lupa nakapangalan sakin o ilang milyon halaga mga ari arian ko..kc mapanghusga cla..pero mali pala sa panghuhusga..kaya may naoofload..yung 100K ko n dala d naman lahat naubos ..kc diskarte mo na kung pano magtipid ng budget..

Hi, Wix! Based sa alam ko dapat talaga provided by your bank kasi may pipirma doon e. Also sa bank may adressee; kagaya no'ng sa BDO ko as in nakalagay talaga na "To NIA Terminal 3, Immigration Officers", kaya detailed. Careful ka lang ah, magkaiba ang bank statement sa Transaction history, your bank knows about this, pwede nila i-explain ng mas detailed, pero in hindsight, si Transaction History ay naka-indicate na may labas pasok ng pera. May bayad rin ito (150 sa BDO) and mas mabilis kung saan yung Primary Bank nung account mo ay doon mo papagawa kasi ipapasa lang din no'ng ibang branch 'yon sa Primary Bank mo, and of course, will take you some time. Yung akin, within the day lang nakuha ko na.

Hi, Joshua! I liked this question. Aside from the required documents mentioned earlier, the traveler needs to present evidence that the sponsor can financially support the trip, (In this case kung Parents mo or Guardian mo) as advised by my friend who has a friend who works as an Immigration Officer. The sponsor's income tax return (ITR) or bank documents can serve as proof. Expect to be questioned by the Immigration Officer regarding the purpose of your trip. If it's a post-graduation celebration, you may state that as the reason. Providing proof of your recent graduation can also be beneficial. It's important to note that having the necessary documents doesn't guarantee approval for your trip, but they can increase the likelihood of success.
