Great video. I personally think this is a great lesson for all those trying to immigrate to Canada. Immigration is a privilege and not a right. Immigration requirements are set by IRCC to screen people that are “worthy” to come and permanently stay in Canada. We can’t just come to Canada and say we are worthy based on our own standards. It will always be to their own standard. I’m glad that things are working okay for you now somehow. All the best!

@rrdancel3 жыл бұрын
You are correct! 💕 There’s really no way of guaranteeing PR in Canada as it depends on several factors; one being merit and hard work, and the other being timing and luck. That’s why immigration is more of a privilege than a right. When people come to Canada with that in mind, they’ll be less disappointed come what may ☺️

@vensakarakorwien57683 жыл бұрын
Actually correction: 1. Canada has 2 official languages, so you could have had French instead (either language is accepted) 2. CBL 5 is only for Federal skilled trades applications. Federal skilled workers must have CBL 7 from one of the official languages (in all 4 skills, so just having average 7 is not enough). 3. Having 1 year work experience as a skilled worker within past 10 year (counted backwards both from the day of ITA and from the day of AOR), full stop. If you have 1 year or work experience in Canada within past 3 years, that will get you into CEC category (there are some perks there like when such work experience for CEC does not have to be continuous unlike for FSW or FST applicants). Also speaking of CEC, your part time work during your studies will not count, even if under other circumstances part time work would count (for 20 hours one would need 2 years of such work experience). That is only for work and study in Canada, because you are getting extra point for Canadian diploma. (however 1 year of Canadian work experience is most of the cases worth more points). 4. Express entry is counting work experience using full months (this is a known weakness), however then your application is assessed days are counted. So in worse can scenario EE can add you almost 1 or more virtual months (if you have started to work at the end of the month). That's why always check it manually if you actually meet requirements (it is manually checked by agent and people were rejected because of missing time and missing points). 5. Be aware province can issue additional provincial law or guidance to automatically reject LMIA for certain professions (Alberta did it). That is because LMIA is closed work permit (bound to specific employer).

@@rrdancel nope I am not. Part of that knowledge was to prepare my own PR application. Your point of view was mainly as CEC. Not everybody can qualify as CEC, thats why I was pointing out that requirement depend on that. You have also not mentioned one more important thing - 67 points treshold. (this was more or less taken from the old system).

I came to Canada 20 years ago on a work permit and I’m just reading and watching videos now to learn more about the Study Visa so I can bring my nephews/nieces here hopefully. My question is: I thought before, when one submits an application for PR - that person has implied status until a decision is made. Which means (I think, my knowledge of this is a bit rusty and outdated), one can work full time anywhere. Was/is it different for a study permit holder?

thank you! this is very helpful! may I know why you had to lose your work permit? aside from you'd wish you studied longer, would you think it helped if you've started your application to get new work permit months before your pgwp expires? or pr was/is only the way? I am asking so as many can avoid this very stressful situation

This is very inspiring! Just one question why did you opt for a visitor visa and not a bridging visa?
@rrdancel4 жыл бұрын
Hi Stephanie, thank you so much. I try hehe :) So I opted for a visitor visa because it wasn't not possible for me to extend my Work permit, since being issued a PGWP only happens once in your lifetime. There are only 2 possible ways to extend it: 1. Getting a Closed Work Permit such as LMIA (employer-sponsored permits) which is difficult because not all employers are onboard with sponsoring a foreign worker when they have citizens and PRs available to hire at no cost. 2. There’s also the Bridging Open Work Permit, but you can only apply for that if a) you have already submitted a PR Application AND b) right before your PGWP Expires. I received an invitation to apply for PR AFTER my PGWP expired, so I was too late to qualify under BOWP. So unfortunately, I had to extend my stay as a visitor in the meantime while waiting for my PR Application to push through. Hope this answers your question ❤️ Take care and keep safe ☺️

this is a very helpful video. I just wonder why it took some time for you to get your ITA.
@rrdancel3 жыл бұрын
Hi, it took me some time to get ITA bc I couldn’t meet IRCC’s cutoff score. It’s a competitive points based system, my score was lower than their cutoff score for a long time until covid happened. To know how express entry works, I explained it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4rVc3hrmp2mj9k

Hi, how much did you show as POF when you changed status from worker to visitor? Thank you.
@rrdancel4 жыл бұрын
I showed mostly my pay stubs from working in Canada and tax slips here. So I saved like $20k? But basically try to show them at least $12,960 as proof of funds (settlement funds for 1 person per year) 😊

Hi! Are there any requirements or tests you need to take to work there for a year? (Prior to PR)
@rrdancel4 жыл бұрын
Some professions may need you to take a certificate of qualification before practising in that field, but for some jobs you do not need to take a test - you just need to go through the usual job application process. So it also depends on what type of job you get 😜👍 But qualify qualify for PR need to work in a skilled level job (NOC A,B, 0) for at least one year 😊👍

It depends on the job you’re applying for, some require to take an exam or certification before hiring, while others do not.
