There are many small towns like this in Florida. I miss home, seeing the old oaks being consumed by the the lower foliage. Moss growing and swaying in the warm humid breeze. I think this town grew out of the populations of migrant workers in the citrus groves and sugar cane fields.

when i was growing up in Naples we would be 20 or 30 deep playing in my hood, soccer or basketball or kickball. now they just play online, we were the last REAL generation for sure. i say you get a better childhood in Immokalee than in Naples if you think about it.

Raised in immokalee, and surprisingly amazed how it's changed in many years, including my high school, the new innovation center is amazing, living in California isn't worth having your kids going to their school, they apply too much pressure for college prep, they are having 1st to 5th grade learn geometry, algebra, and all as a way to get them ready for college, they don't have funds for field trips, students raise the money for them... I'm all for them getting ready for college but that something you do when the child enters middle school.. if I move back to immokalee I'm glad the schools my kids go to have classes or places that gives them the hands on learning experience, it's forever my home

We used to drive thru here coming from Miami to Tampa a few times a year. Off season that town would be deserted. I guess a lot of the migrant workers settled down and stayed. Im pretty sure it was tomatoes and oranges.

Kissimmee Is interesting. many new cars and aggressive drivers. feels NEW, elegant but also aggressive. neat town. RUMBAS in NAPLES, VAN VAN in NAPLES, HAVANOS WATERFRONT GRILL in marathon, Mariuchi's in Hialeah. Bradenton has havana cafe they are great. Las vegas in Broward. Jacksonville has a good one too cant remember the name. Port Orange has a cuban place too thats good. order "Cafe con leche" warm coffee or "batido" milkshake.m try mamey flavor. real cuban order is Palomilla withj white rice, black beans and fried banana. also, try guaba pastries if they have that. QUE RICO is a great colombian place in north port always get Bandeja paisa in Colombian places. in Miami "ruta 75" is a great colombian place. colombian places also sell batido. when you do puerto rican get a tamarind juice. Gandules Grill great puerto rican place in lehigh Acres.

Since Naples has treated their poor like trash cannot find a place to live in Naples because they're pricing it for the wealthy a lot of people live out here working Naples live in Naples for many years I'm poor and have a disability and then the rich people around there will treat you like an animal all the wealthy there we'll just spit on you and walk away so Immokalee is my home my hood if you weren't born in Fort Myers or Immokalee or even Everglades City if you weren't born around the area Immokalee would not be the place for you to live but Immokalee is a great place with a lot of great people in it I love Immokalee my hood my home💜💙💪

@@johnperic6860 I'm retired USAF and now work as a machinist so I dont think I could afford to live in Naples or a nice area in Miami !! I have 14 acres near st augustine that I inherited from my grandfather I fixed up the house and since I am from this area I just decided to stay here !! it seems like down south your either filthy rich or dirt poor and the property and home prices are 3 time what they are here !! I considered the Tampa Bay area but thats way to crowded for me

@@johnperic6860 there are downsides to North Florida to like not as much going on and kinda boring !! if I was 25 years younger I would be down in Lauderdale or Hollywood it was a hopping area with alot of cool bars and great night life !! and you got to deal with alot colder weather here we get them 20s and 30s around here and the heat and humidity seems worse in the summer and no breeze !! climate seems a little better in the south

Its not little mexico anymore, it was called little mexico in the 80s and 90s but now Guatemalan ppl have tooken over Immokalee With out no doubt one of the ugliest town in florida. And also full of chickens how i wish town was like it was in the 80s, Immokalee just gets uglier and uglier by the year. Sad to see ppl destroy town and not care, trash everywhere.
