I'm pretty sure this isn't the end of the Autodale series, it's just that the creator got super overworked making it and it's not mentally healthy for him to continue working on it like this, so he's taking a break... by making another series about dinosaurs which you could also check out if you want! It's pretty cool! Also, here's my summary/ interpretation of what's going on: So, the world is dying from some sort of apocalypse and people are getting sick or corrupted by it, these giant things which they refer to as goddesses seem to have the ability to heal or reverse the sickness but they themselves are dying as well. So this inventor guy creates a tower/ machine that can keep the goddess alive, but it requires human blood to do so. This is the basis of the entire dystopian world of Autodale, the entire town is run the way it is purely to make sure there are enough humans dying to use their blood to keep the goddess alive and make sure Humanity survives. The mayor (which is just the inventor now centuries older, probably living using the same mechanism as the goddess) knows the monstrosities that goes on in autodale, but regretfully accepts and carries them on because it's necessary to keep humanity as a whole alive, every messed up thing they do is to make sure the cycle never ends. Eventually, this woman who is labelled exceptional (meaning she's really good at whatever it is Autodale values... not sure what though) and through some conspiracy theory-ing figures out the truth behind the lies, the abominations behind everything, she's eventually caught and forced to meet with the mayor who instead of being mad, is just happy to have someone to share the truth with. He tells her why they do what they do and shows her the machine that keeps the goddess alive, hoping that with a new perspective it can atleast confirm that he truly is in the wrong and stuff because he was having doubts of his own if this was the right thing to do. Unfortunately for him, the woman seems to agree with him and is like "Yup, I approve, you're cool" and so he turns her into the first of those wierd flesh robo-thingies that make up "Hive". They're basically like the governing body that manages the town while the mayor just sits on his thrown being sad or whatever. Hopefully whenever the next episode comes out, we learn more about this world, or atleast see what will happen next since most of this is just backstory or explaining the world, not necessarily plot. But episodes like "Don't feed the freaks" and "Friendly Shadow" seem to be the plot as new stuff happens, new things that haven't happened before in the autodale cycle.

The "withering goddess" zapped the girl in the inventor/mayor's arms, and it cured the illness. The goddess was dying, so the mayor put her on adhoc life support. This life support requires the blood of 'innocents' -- by which I mean: sacrifices which are made up of Ugly Citizens. The pain that the goddess is in when she receives her daily dose of blood transfusion causes an electrical reaction, which is magnified by the tower. That, or the goddess is in pain as she scrapes every last dredge of power that she has with what little energy she is granted in order to eke out a little something to keep humanity alive on a regular basis. The electricity/lightning, magnified by the centralized tower, which cures the deadly illness, affects the entire city of Autodale. Thus, the humans living there exist illness-free... at the cost of their autonomy. They are kept in ignorance of the evil they are subjected to and brought up believing is normal, because it is kinder to live a happy short life than a frightened one, and it is believed by the Exceptional Girl to indeed be what is necessary for humanity to be able to live at all. This is disappointing to the Mayor, because he wanted someone intelligent to tell him that he needs to stop all that he is doing because there IS a better way. (There is; IF you subscribe to the notion that the Freaks are all former-humans who did NOT die from the world-spanning illness, but rather - somewhere, outside, along the way - they evolved to fit into an evolved environment.)

Something I think is worth keeping in mind is that each of the videos in the Autodale series all have been released months apart from one another, with the very first one having been released all the way back in 2017, and this one that you just watched having been released just last year. If we do indeed end up getting another installment, it's probably going to be some months before we see it.

Yeah I’ve noticed that, I’m okay with waiting though, every episode has been amazing

@@MasterZeroReacts I agree for the most part. The only episode I didn't fully appreciate was this one. Personally, I would have found the origin story cooler if it turned out that machines were just using humanity as a source of fuel, kind of like in The Matrix. That's just my opinion, though.

The things about the series I like most is the secrecy and ambiguity about the world itself, particularly about how the world became that way, and what the giant beings actually ARE. Were they always there? Did humans only find them after the world was destroyed? And how is the Mayor even alive till he met the Exceptional Girl, considering atleast a few generations must have passed since he built Autodale. And if you noticed in some of the episodes, something weird is going on with the gravity outside of Autodale(dead trees and rubble floating upwards). There's also the fact that the giant being somehow prevents the sickness from affecting humans inside Autodale, as said by the Mayor All the mystery makes it all the more enjoyable for me. Fun reaction, thanks for posting!

Fantastic points you made, and I agree, the mystery of why really keeps me invested in this series. It is really remarkable for sure

a bit late to the party, btu a lot is explained in the Behind the Scenes. Like, its still a mystery what the giants are, but humans coexisted with them for a long while before the Wilting happened. As for how the giants work, they are basically empathic creature, their appearance reflecting the world around them (hence why the goddess looks like a dead tree during the wilting, and now looks like a mix of human and machinery). this works both ways, and thus because the Goddess is kept healthy, so are her surroundings. Also its left up in the air if the godess is even really aware of her situation and emprisonment. She might understand it just as much as she might be completely oblivious to what is done to her and for what purpose.

I remember i told you the more episodes you watch the more you'll like autodale.. well i do because they are willing to take the blame of killing humans to preserve humanity and save it from the apocalipse or whatever happening outside
@MasterZeroReacts2 жыл бұрын
Idk I took it more of "at what cost" like yeah they are technically saving the Humans, however the reason is way too sinister to be labeled as good. Audodale can't fool me that easily lol
