The first song i ever heard from 2pac was Changes while my mom & step-dad were fist fighting in the living room,I remember slowly turning looking at the tv hearing "I see no changes i wake up in the morning & ask myself is life worth living should i blast myself" & i literally wiped the tears from my eyes thinking wow who is this guy i'm feeling like that?? At the time i was 14 now i'm 31 & 2pac is my favorite rapper of all time! It's crazy how he's still mentioned till this very day!. Thank you for letting me share my story,i am now on medication thank you.

@L. C listen to that speech again I heard that interview since I was 13 and learned more about what I heard as I got older. he said nothing about being president he was talking about the politicians who due nothing for the community and that by next election he would be sitting across from all the candidates. that could mean being either a district council, mayor, governor a politician within community for the community by somehow creating a new political party to put their interest first. you and others heard election and automatically thought presidential when in truth all politicians need to be elected and let's be real tupac as a US President at that time is damn near impossible not only that a us president is bothered by mostly worldy affairs than the urban community that's why each state has it's own city officials who run that city or town.

@L. C brother with all due respect that is the 96 one it's the same interview where he explains why he put the K in Killuminati. this was one of his last interviews where he was talking about his new album coming out which would be the makaveli album. if you could find this interview you heard him specifically talk about running to be a us president then I would love to hear it.

Actually 2Pac's step father Mutulu Shakur was a member of "RNA : Republic of New Afrika" a revolutionary group from the 80s. His mother was a N.Y. black panther. RIP Tupac Shakur
@IRANITaabad5 жыл бұрын
Lets look at Tupac's life. - Spent his childhood running from the FBI due to the actions of the Shakurs. His step father Mutulu Shakur[3] who was on the ten most wanted list for domestic terrorism. His own mother, spent time in prison on a trial for plotting to blow up New York police departments with the infamous panther 21. His God father was geronimo pratt[4] who was targeted by the FBI illegal Cointelpro. And his god mother is Assata Shakur[5] who is also wanted for domestic terrorism, that Tupacs step-dad broke her out of prison and is now living in Cuba. Bush in 2003 put a $1 million reward on her head during the revival of targeting domestic terrorists at the start of the war on terror - At 16 became the youngest national Chairman of the New African panthers, himself then getting FBI attention. His FBI file, only 104 pages out of 4000 are released to the public, the rest 3896 pages are censored for "National Security". - Quit the New African Panthers when he believed the Nation of Islam infiltrated it, the next leader after Shakur was surprise surprise, a member of the NOI. - Got into a constant war of words with the Nation of Islam throughout his rap career. They would follow him everywhere, trying to make it look like they where associated with him. To get his approval, because he was a Shakur. Tupac hated the Nation of Islam because his family where connected to Malcolm X, and his family blame the Nation for his assassination. - Became famous to the general public when released 2pacalyspe now, becoming the legendary rapper. Immediately denounced by the Vice President Dan Quayle due to its anti-american political content. It was obvious they knew who he was by his second name, even if the average rap fan didn't. - Gets mentioned by name at the Republican Nation Convention From the help of Mutulu Shakur from prison, starts a movement entitled "Thug Life". Tupac helps enforce truces between rival gangs, including the bloods and the crips under "Thug Life". The plan was to get them to stop killing each other, unite, police their communities, and eventually fight the government. He was seducing gang bangers and trying to turn them into soldiers. After that his life turns to shit and seems to be getting arrested and targeted by police on a weekly basis, most of which is was baseless, but people only remember him getting arrested, not acquitted. His "out of control" image increases. - Two Police officers are beating a black motorist. Tupac approaches them and they fire shots at him. Tupac goes back to his car and gets his gun and returns fire, hitting both officers, one in the thigh and one in the buttocks. The charges are dropped against Tupac when it turns out both officers are intoxicated, and the gun they used to fire against Tupac was stolen from an evidence locker. Everyone else just remembers "Tupac shot two cops". - With the help of Dan Quayle and other Republicans, they persuade family members of slain cops to sue Tupac over his music, stating that his music causes the violence. Seriously, here is even a court video of one of the cases against him in 1995 - The republicans convince Time Warner to drop interscope records due to Tupac being one of their artists. - Two criminals, Haitian Jack and James "Henchman" Rosemand try to extort Tupac. He tells them to fuck off and ends up on their hit list. Both later turn out to be working for the FBI since the late 80s until the late 90s. - Haitian Jack (The FBI Agent) introduces Tupac to a woman, the same woman accuses Tupac of rape and sexual assault. Tupac gets shot by the orders of James Rosemand (another FBI Agent) 5 times in 1994, survives. - Goes to prison for sexual assault, but found innocent of rape. Released after 11 months when new evidence helping prove his innocence is found. The prosecution states they "lost it" and it was not deliberate. - The Jewish Defense League (JDL) threaten to kill Tupac due to his familys politics. He tells them to fuck off. This is in Tupacs (released) FBI files. - Tupac refuses to remain silent about Jimmy Henchman and Haitian Jack, announces them as FBI informers, and publicly humiliates any other rappers being extorted by them, or associated with them (Biggie, Puffy, etc).

Your favorite rapper than and now talk a good one but hide in the hills while you die loving the life they "portray" at least PAC gave you the negatives and positive so you can make your own choice . PAC would end up making political movies and real good stories like ( bby boy )would write books would build centers in the hood would end the three strike laws . But over all I believe he would be killed . He was that type of individual. Much love n peace PAC !

Edgar Bahena Yeah that's pretty much exactly what I think would happen but I feel like there would definitely be less people in today's world that would be willing to smoke Pac imo. Plus in the hypothetical situation that he did live but the Vegas shooting still happened he would have much more security. Also if he did live then that begs the question if Biggie would've been killed so it's definitely an important moment in hip hop.

Question Vlad should ask is why these new jack fake rappers are not making socially motivated songs? Where is the 2010's NWA???? Where all the songs about police brutality and racial discrimination? 20years after Tupacs death and the game has changed for the worse, rap is no longer about or for the people - its all about corporate messages, materialism and inane mindless violence
@Thirty3mad8 жыл бұрын
For themselves though, they are not moving people through unity like pac did or was trying to do. You little kids only know 2 pac for his thug persona, clearly his message was to create peace, unity and etc. This generation dumbed the fuck down and the next will be worse... These new school rappers don't give a fuck about their fans, they only show love because of the benefits the fans provide for them.

I always think about a quote from Quincy Jones that I have to paraphrase because I can't quote it verbatim, but he said "If Malcolm X would have died at 25, he would have died as a street hustler named Detroit Red. If Martin Luther King Jr. would have died at 25, he would have died as an unknown preacher in the south. If I would have died at 25, I would have died as a young struggling composer that the world never would have heard of. But Tupac died at 25 years old and look at all that he accomplished!" I've long thought that dying young into a successful career where you haven't had the chance to fall off yet was a mixed blessing. No one would want to die, but imagine if dudes like Snoop or LL Cool J died after their first couple albums? People would say they were top 5 artists. But, Pac was different and I think he would have pursued acting more but there's no way I can picture him not being on the frontlines of a social movement in this day and age with the heinous actions of police and the killing of unarmed black men. This generation needs a voice, and the black lives matter movement desperately needs a passionate and articulate voice before it can really achieve the change it hopes to achieve.

Socialism, Communism, and Capitalism all depend on one variable to be successful. That is the human condition. No matter what, history has shown us, whenever we've given men power over other men, corruption, murder and greed are usually the end results. Seems nobody is taking that into account. Laws, economic structures or any other governmental plans will create the Utopian society it promises. Not even in the least bit

Anyone who thinks that Big and Pac would've been full time rapping in the mid 2000's is an idiot. They were clearly branching out into other things (clothing, acting etc) and like it or not, the South (the BS ones anyway) was going to get their run eventually. Just the way hip hop always went around. Proof? Living or not, the kids that were born in 96 and 97, aren't as connected to them. The majority of kids born after 1990 dont appreciate the impact they had on the game. Pac bringing the thug image mainstream and BIG still being quoted by everyone today. Lil Wayne/John were inevitable, the youth determines the mainstream sound of hip hop. Hence why you can look at peoples top 5 comments and Lil Wayne/Drake is in it.
@DoveVzn9 жыл бұрын
Exactly. The South was going to still be popular during the early and mid 2000s. It would've happened either way, especially when OutKast won that award back in the 90s. It was only a matter of time

Cuba would have gone on fine for a while, but the heavy taxation that comes with socialism has diminishing returns after a while. Looking at Sweden, a recent socialist state that only became socialist thirty or so years ago, we can see that after a while, people simply don't have the motivation to continue working hard and putting money into the system. It has failed, inevitably, every time. Capitalism isn't the end all economic system, not saying it's perfect, but the left-wing economic plan won't cut it, especially not for a country the size of the US.

I think Pac was a little overrated when it came to politics. I grew up in the 90's and I had Pac's "Me against the world", "All eyez on me", "The Donilluminati-The seven day theory", albums etc. Pac rapped about politics, but he rapped more about the streets, women, jail, the hood, etc., that's why everyone could relate to him.He talked about real shit, just listen to "Dear Mama." But before he died, his raps were very negative, and if you listen to Funkmaster's Flex comments about him on youtube, Flex was right to an extent. Pac was very negative-but one thing that he did do was expose the East Coast, and New York rap hasn't been the same since Pac buried them. If Pac was alive today, I don't think he would be relevant when it comes to music, but I do believe that he would of been a top-notch Hollywood actor. The things that he rapped about in the 90's, aren't played on today's radio, and I don't think that Pac would of crossed over, or "dumbed" down his lyrics to fit in with this generation of rap fans. This generation of rap fans cares more about dancing, and beats, Pac cared about lyrics.
@klausse29 жыл бұрын
Will X Tupac had a fly flow, you have to understand that many people know nobody else as a rapper than Tupac. Alot of people listen only to him, so saying anybody is a better rapper in any way would be wrong to them. I truly believe after seeing how loyal his fans is, he would be very relavant. iggy ''loves'' tupac 15% of her fans is gonna love him too, Justin bieber ''loves'' Tupac 15 % is gonna love him too. you give new rappers way too many probs, they are all way older than tupac was, or have more time to study.
@sbandy12789 жыл бұрын
Yup. I said the same thing. Pac would be a full time actor now. He would have settled down with age like everybody else. Nobody stays on top forever. Nobody!
@willhallmimistries9 жыл бұрын
klaus rasmussen if tupac rapped today in this era like he did in the 90s, tupac would not be relevant today. That's common sense. People don't want to hear that kind of music anymore. People are glorified more in death, just like Malcolm x and Martin Luther King were. That's why Iggy and beiber like him. After PACs death, he became more of an egnima, a mystery,or more like an Elvis where people didn't want to believe he was dead.people glorified him more. People liked him when he was alive of course, but when he died he literally had a cult like following as if he was a Jesus, prophetic figure. So when he died, we made him more than what he was. We didn't look at him like that when he was alive. So if PAC was alive, no he as a rapper would not be relevant.
@kevinx92259 жыл бұрын
Will X He was negative because he'd just got out of jail on a charge he said he was innocent of (from reports I have read it wasn't rape but they said he was responsible for the people around him). Secondly, he was released to DeathRow's bosom. They truly were living a Gangsta life style and that was too easy for a young black man not to get wrapped up in. Some of those people really could do bad things. Finally, I hope given enough time, Pac would have snapped out of it and like Dre and Snoop, walked away from the Deathrow craziness. Given enough time he probably would have went the way of Ice Cube's business model. More acting/writing/directing than rapping.
@mansamusa20129 жыл бұрын
Will X I disagree with your comment regarding the East Coast. He made diss records so what. During that time, Wu tang, Biggie, Jay Z, Mobb Deep and many others in the East were still making hit records. After Pac and Biggie past, Jay Z got bigger, Capone N Noreaga, Wu Tang still around, Mobb Deep around still, Fat Joe, Big Pun and a bunch of others blew up. It's the West Coast that has never been the same again! It was not until 2004 or 05 that the Game came and went a away with the quickness. Then 7 years later you got Kendrick. Come on the East always had the best Emcees. FACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We literally r generation hate no matter what the knowledge or who the person dropping it is there is always some1 who is 2 ignorant to listen or understand n I think it comes from a lack of knowing their selves n a comfortability to bandwagon against n dislike things they feel their opionin matters n the power they have to click a button a disapprove it is really sad.

But country music doesn't inherently promote killing, rap does. Rap also promotes the "don't talk to police" mentality. Everything he said was on point but Tech is talking out of his ass with that last point

I come from a socialist family, but it took a listen to Vol. 2 for me to really read and learn about that stuff. Thats about 10 years ago now... For this reason I will forever respect this man.

After Pac & Biggie died tha South took over,In 97 it was a mix of everyone, Cube was still hot with Westside connection,Snoop went to No limit & Dre started aftermath, N.y had Jay z & Pac wannabes in Ja rule & Dmx

X was far from a pac wannabe he was in a lane of his own. Ja I can agree with because he had music out in the early 90s and his style was a lot diff than the Ja u are referring 2

Tupac wouldnt have had any impact today...people dont realise that weve gone back to the dark ages because of technology. A freind of mine once asked me "who is J cole?" and this was back when j cole was at the peak of his fame. Im black... And im african...i have no idea what Kendrick lamar is talking about 97% of the time. I was born on the continent of africa and in all my 29 years ive never left. Yet as a teenager i was into linkin park and limp bizkit...and this wasnt during the 90's..i was a teenager between 2006 and 2011.. I was into korn. . Linkin park. As an adult i have gravitated towards weezer and foo fighters. Americans have an overly politicised way of looking at life that just isnt realistic in other parts of the world. The American pop culture machine has made people believe in the power of this cult of personality ideal. This idea of being a hipster whose ready to die for his beliefs. This world is a cruel and unforgiving place my brothers and sisters. You guys need to wake up and give your lives to God Almighty. Repent your sins

2pac would be at a cross between Public Enemy and Nas if he was still alive. He'd have money, have a good track every now and again but would be considered a relic, and the Chief Keef's would still be hotter than him.
