Attractive as the Chinese-themed reskin may be, the combat, exploration, and puzzle solving underneath is close to identical to what we've already played, and the characters aren't nearly as much fun. After spending eight or so hours completing the story I have little compulsion to come back and check off the remaining challenges, as unfortunately, it feels like I've played it all before."

Its definitely a fair point of criticism, they can have a dlc which still uses the foundation of the game but builds on it and adds new mechanics or features. This is pretty much just a reskin which looks really nice. Also 6/10 isnt a low score either

But it is generally understood that Expansions are larger than what you would commonly call DLCs. For example, you wouldn't call World of Warcraft Expansions as a DLC.

No he was expecting the game to use it theme to create certain game mechanic and remove some others that fit the original theme..this is just a reskin, it is quite lazy. People criticized RE3 for feeling like a dlc and that game had different level design, mechanics, enemy attributes etc but this is just a reskin.

If you're gonna make a stand alone dlc that's about Chinese stuff instead of greek stuff, that standalone dlc should feel a little different from the greek stuff. If the Chinese stuff is almost identical to the greek stuff, then that's pretty disappointing. What's the point of including a new mythology if they're just gonna give you reskins? Why would they go out of their way to create a new character if he's just gonna use the same powers that Fenyx uses? They couldve just took Fenyx and put him in a new island. People don't seem to understand. There is nothing wrong with the game using the same mechanics, it is DLC after all. It's just that it brings nothing new or interesting to it. That doesn't have to be a completely new revamp of the game. But maybe new tools, or weapon types, new additions to the skill tree. It's very similar enemy types in a new skin, with story and characters that are less interesting. A 6 is a worthy number imo. It's not bad, it not great. Sure, if you don't mind having nothing really new or interesting than it's probably like an 8 or 9. But a review is an opinion after all. You can't please anybody and the important thing is to listen to what the reviewer likes and dislikes and think for yourself whether YOU have an issue with those points or not. You should never make a decision based on the final score of a review.
