I love to see this methodical, contentious approach. It shows everything you need to know about Pip's approach to the mission.

Really good to be back tracking the race throughout the day again (still remote working). Best of luck with the asset, the infrastructure, the materials, and the fixings. Pip!

Just the idea of you hanging off the bowsprit with your (Croc'd) foot on the bobstay gives me the willies. Your confidence in your skill, your physical condition, and your proficiency is just amazing Pip. I think the methodical way you have learned and maintain your boat is reassuring to me. Why is it none of the Vendee' skippers wear harness on deck?
@cuthbertmilligenАй бұрын
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think most ocean-going skippers feel that if they fall overboard they'll never get back on the boat anyway. The only solution would be to have the line so short that they couldn't fall overboard and that would mean that they couldn't trim the sails properly and as they are driven people that's out.

Many of them do wear harness. I’ve seen it in multiple videos. The autopilots have proximity sensor in the remotes the skippers keep on their person. If the remote goes out of bounds ie skipper is off the ap will keep boat head to wind. But ideally they keep tether short so can’t fall off. Because yes drowning by dragging is likely and self rescue improbable. There are skippers who have come off and got/ been washed back on Conrad for one

Thanks for showing this. What is that goop from the tube you spread on some of the thick black lines up forward?

Please be fully hooked in at all times on deck - just projecting my own absolute fears of going overboard in open sea 😂 - oh rocking those crocs by the way ❤

Whys does the bow sprit looks like it has cracks in it or is it just paint damage? 22 seconds on starboard strut and 32 seconds in on port strut

looks like they did a bad job at covering the bow sprit in vinyl Wrap
