This is the best pure sailing event (adventure? achievement?) in years. I am really sorry that the dream you gave years of your life to went so far off course, but you have really demonstrated the true spirit of the race.

Quel dommage que l'organisation du Vendée globe ne suive pas plus ceux qui abandonnent, au moins jusqu'à leur arrivée à terre. Cà fait partie de la course, ce que font tous ces marins avec leurs bateaux fissurés, mats pétés, pannes d'énergies et avaries en tout genre est extraordinaire.La remontée de PIP HARE avec son bout de voile est une vrai performance !

I found you through watching Nick from Aquaholic, and he was so supportive of you that I had to find out how you were doing for myself. What a wonderful thing you have done, yes of course you have been so disappointed about being dismasted but your slow boat journey has proven your metal and given you even more reasons to go for 2028 Vendee. Pip , you have everything in you to do it and now you just need the money!!! Hopefully with lots of help , you will go on and get ready to race in 2028.

I'm sure I'm not alone in having a huge sense of relief that you are close to Melbourne. But at the same time time, a sense of separation anxiety.
