As I've gotten older. I've really struggled with the concept of my own talent and how amazing everyone is . ... to see someone who I know is immensely creative and talented show us that she is also human and needs to practice and get in the zone. To see your admiration and love for another artists work and to bring your own twist to it ... it's the most pure beautiful feeling in humanity. This really helped me seeing your process. Thank you please keep it up!
@AScarletWoman Жыл бұрын
This! And also that each person has their own individual talents to contribute. Imogen might have struggled with the song, but I thought the ending with all those layered vocals was INCREDIBLE. I like that part better than the studio version.
@Rawrmuffin0 Жыл бұрын
The few people commenting that imogen struggled etc need to consider she was covering multiple songs from different styles. Basically sight reading piano music is hard enough but to add singing into that while performing is insanely difficult. Plus imogen is a mature woman!!! She sounded amazing and her skill enough had me smiling with glee bc I love her so so much. She’s so talented and paved the way for artists like Caroline and charli xcx and even Ariana grande who is a massive fan of hers. This was all for fun and her ‘meltdown’ was part of the show!
@leemythic440011 ай бұрын
Regardless she sounded pretty good to me. She might do better with enunciating the words in a slower way so that she can hold the notes better, but like you said playing piano and singing is hard😅. I can still see her killing it as a cover it would truly be amazing 😀

I think she was doing 7 hour marathon covers for a fundraiser and Caroline actually donated money for her to cover this…Caroline stands trying to make it seem like something else edited it to just the cover and put ridiculous out of context titles. She was having a sort of “breakdown” about almost all the songs she was doing in those long marathon hours, needing warm ups etc. but she is literally just crowdsourcing and tinkering.

People should keep in mind that Caroline herself had a real pianist transcribe and teach her during practice, her own song in a piano rendition/version and CP would sound no different (if anything as a first take for Imogen, it clearly showcases that IH is also naturally the better pianist…I mean she was playing for 7 hours or something straight here over the course of a few days). And it was very smart of Caroline and her team at Sony to know how much people compare the two and strategically donate to Imogen in order to cover her song. Please don’t try to take one performance out of a marathon context where IH is clearly reading and running through a song entirely for the first time. No doubt when Caroline was practicing her piano version, she had many stumbles before it was recorded.
