Some people love the competition and show of their self, it's like they just love about music and perform, beacuse she's tried the best , If she's have a passion like that, she will develop abilities and voice then try again and find the way how to be superstar. These people have to audition for others on Australian Idol before they are even allowed to audition for the judges. Why do they let bad singers get through to be on camera? Because it's "entertaining" and gets ratings. People love to watch a crash scene.

She just needs singing lessons. Anyone can sing reasonably well if they're willing to put in the effort. She's not as terrible as some would make her out to be. She's no where near the level required of someone who wants to earn a living by singing, but that doesn't mean she can't improve. I read she was reluctant to leave. That's a tad embarrassing. But I think some of the judge's face pulling was unnecessary and a bit arrogant. The whole point of auditions is to filter people and of course some are going to be well below standard. It doesn't mean the person is a loser for life. Harry Connick Jnr's comment about singing not being part of her future was out of line and not his decision to make. Train to get better and try again another day. This girl needs to be willing to see where she really is in order to improve however.

Agree a friend and I were saying with some training (which according to her starnow profile) she seems to have a fair bit of history with singing. It’s hard though with some of these belty songs especially if you’re in any capacity nervous. A graceful exit certainly would have sat better for her future endeavours though.

@JulzMusic Belty songs are tricky but it all comes down to appropriate song selection for the audition. She clearly chose the wrong song for her on the day. When she started singing in French unsolicited it was actually very nice, even though it came across as weird because she'd already been asked to leave. As the judges said, she should've auditioned with that song instead. No idea if she would've gotten through but it would've been a much stronger performance. (Trainor couldn't resist making funny faces at the camera which was puerile. At least Shark was professional. Harry Connick Jnr I thought was very arrogant and rude through out the exchange. Even though he's being paid money to listen to auditions, Connick looked like a bad tempered child with this disgusted and angry expression during the performance as if someone crapped on his couch. Completely unnecessary. And then making a snide dig in French about her elocution when the other judges remarked how nice the French singing was even though it was a bit awkward. I guess being rude is part of Reality TV and letting everyone know you're a celebrity)

@Steve Bronson That's because you've never had singing lessons and seen what is possible. Singing is no different to running, weight lifting, swimming, boxing, skydiving or any other physical activity. Anyone, even an inexperienced beginner who makes every mistake possible, can get good with enough training and hard work. Will it make you world champion? Not necessarily but that doesn't mean you can't get good. Remember: Australian Idol is an elite competition. Only the best of the best win. There are plenty of people who sing beautifully and would bring a tear to your eye and they'd never win Idol. And it's not because they're no good, they're just not top 1%.

Then somebody capable of singing the whole first verse close to in tune randomly switches keys on the chorus?

Oh.... my ears are bleeding a little... It does take a lot of guts to get up in front of people like this, so i give her props for that... and there are some notes in there that have some potential.... IF she were to work with a vocal coach. Just my thoughts...

She sounded fine, just not a right fit for a singing competition that calls for more versatility. These singing competitions set up people to fail who's only crime is being passionate about singing, which is a bit elitist. The contestants have a list of songs and the producers usually get the "funny" auditionees to sing the worst song of the bunch, I hope she keeps at it.
