A lot of people in the twitch chat was like "that's not how guns work", but they seem to have forgotten that Exandria firearms aren't cased ammunition. Even Percy's design was based around revolving barrels that are pre-loaded with black powder + ammunition, not even a revolving cylinder design. An electric charge **WILL** detonate black powder, including any preloaded barrels. However, Matt did forget that wouldn't mean the guy's ammo pouch of 30+ bullets and pre-packed black powder is going to result in 30 gun shots. If you wanted to rule that the guy's inventory ammo is ignited, it would mean that he would effectively have a grenade go off on his belt.

I don't understand what you're saying about the ammo pouch? He clarified it was the surface, preloaded powder that went off. Laura even classified that Lightning Bolt ignited stuff that wasn't being worn or carried

I think you got the mechanism for the gun wrong. The weapon consists of 240 individual barrels that are preloaded and set (the 237 shots Matt mentions are the ones left after the 3 shots fired during the first round). The gunner only has to trigger them. This means that the logical flaw of shots going from the ammo pouch to the barrels does not exist. As Matt said, the logic behind "only" 60 shots being fired is that only 60 barrels were in the direct line of fire of the Lightning Bolt spell.

A gun with 60 barrels makes absolutely no sense, that’s an absurd amount of material and mechanisms that have to work perfectly all at once. They’re literally nobody toughs in the desert, how the hell are the gonna maintain a gun with 60 individual barrels and 60 firing mechanisms and 60 loading mechanisms, when regular barrels, firing, and loading mechanisms go bad under good conditions. Not to even say that shooting it once would probably melt all the barrels and the recoil would be so bad it would probably kill the person using it. If they had the materials for 60 guns, combining them into 1 gun is the worst way to put them to use

Watching the fight live, I absolutely adored how supportive the cast were to Laura after that lightning bolt, assuring her that it was going to be fine, telling her that it was a damn cool move and so on, especially when she appears stressed over the potential consequences of her move. So, a few things: 1) THANK YOU. I felt so weird being the only one bringing it up. 2) Fearne did use her Mirthful leap (Satyr specific feature) several times, and has no darkvision. She's not a RAW hexblood. *Yet* . You can become a hexblood post-character creation. 3) Regardless : - Raised by a Hag. - Hag magic and Druid magic are not-so-distant cousins. - Fearne getting her magic from Mori means she's at least a Hag' *s* apprentice. And at most a Hag apprentice. 4) In that context, 00:16:50 The talk about Fearne's surprising height being related to Mori's is highly sus...or just Fey musings. Impossible to know. Conclusion? The existence of the Hexblood playable race simply means that Hags have the ability to reproduce by infusing other beings with Hag magic. And even if Fearne does not evovle into a Hexblood, could Matt reflavor it to make any being that was taught magic by a Hag a possible futur Hag instead? I mean... ...Hexblood Fearne would be kinda hot though 🤔

@@davidgomes4408 All the Van Richten's lineages do allow the option of keeping skill proficiencies and climbing, flying, or swimming speed from a previous race -- RAW there's nothing explicitly about jump distance, but then I don't know off the top of my head that there *are* many races other than satyr where that would always be relevant. (I think the only other one is harengon, which iirc hadn't been officially released yet when VRGR dropped.) I feel like allowing Mirthful Leap would be a reasonable GM ruling in a grey area, since it's not exactly game-breaking. But has the *busted-ass* satyr spell resistance been coming into play much? (I also feel like it would be absolutely in character for her to suddenly announce "oh, yeah, I've been able to see in the dark for a while now. Does that not just happen to people sometimes at a certain age?") Perhaps most importantly of all... hexblood Fearne would not *only* be hot, she'd have one free Disguise Self per day as well as the ability to cast it with spell slots. WHAT CRIMES COULD SHE COMMIT.

I know Matt does extensive research on his lore building, but I find it interesting that he chose the name *MARICRIS* for one of his male NPCs. _Maricris_ is a common Filipino female name, usually a shortened form of "Maria Christina." I have 3 cousins who are named Maricris, Marites (Maria Teresa), and Maribeth (Maria Elizabeth).
