fun fact about the carrot war propaganda: it was actually told by Britain to disguise why british pilots were so good at night, because they had actually secretly started using radar to detect enemy bombers during night raids.

However, with respect, carrots do contain a good amount of Beta-Carotene, which the body turns into Vitamin-A and the Vitamin-A is known to help repair damage to many eye sight issues, to include low light vision (Rhodopsin needs Vitamin A as a cofactor in the formation of the Rhodopsin protein...so without Vitamin A, there is a chance of night-blindness occurring) Though, on another front, Beta-Carotene/Vitamin A is found in many other sources other than carrots.

One of my favorite moments of campaign 3 is Orem giving Imogen a hug after realizing sending works again. Also, I think one of these days Laudna is going to have to choose between Imogen and Delilah and I think they're going to have to 'contain' Laudna.

5:20 That’s partially true. It was war propaganda, but it wasn’t (just?) because they had too many carrots. The allies had just invented radar and they didn’t want the Germans to figure out how they were bombing them during the night. So, they decided to spread false rumours to cover their tracks and, I dunno, I guess they thought tricking the Germans into eating carrots was funny.

The carrot story was a cover for the UK having Radar and being able to shoot down enemy planes. No one else had it yet. "Research led us to give pilots extra carrots, as it increases their low light vision" was the rumour spread.

This episode was AMAZING! All the feels! The Laura Liam hug made me cry! Then Jester showing up was hilarious! The lake was terrifying! I was anxious the whole time! I couldn’t sleep after that! I’m so excited for this week! I have no idea what’s going to happen next! I feel like we’re getting closer to the final confrontation with Ludinus! And don’t even get me started on the Delilah situation! I didn’t know about C1 until years later and just wasn’t interested in C2 but this campaign got me hooked! I haven’t missed an episode yet!

Marisha was half right on the carrot thing! In WWII, the British had developed intercepting technology to shoot down German bombers before they could cross the English Channel. In order to try and keep that technology a secret, the British army created propoganda campaigns that said the carrots gave them superior night vision--and that *that* was how they could shoot down the German planes, not because of new tech. However, carrots can provide some benefits for eyesight. Carrots are rich in vitamin A, and vitamin A deficiences are linked to poor eyesight. There was a separate campaign done in the UK about eating more potatoes and carrots during the war, because that could be grown there and they wanted to encourage people to eat what they could grow in their gardens instead of relying on things that had to be imported--because go figure, importing things is a nightmare when your country is at war.
