This is the only tool that could remove my aging door hinge screws covered in layers of paint and already partially stripped.

Thanks so much for explaining why you have to compress it before striking. Watched other videos and they didn't mention it, just assumed everyone knew. Was just about to send my second one back to Amazon because it didn't turn ! Watched this; two whacks of a hammer and it's loosened. Finally.

I replaced my impact driver yesterday after 30 years. The little cups inside had crumbled. Luck would have it, I found a Sykes Pickavant Impact driver in a garage I was clearing out. Looks like it has never been used! ... Top tip with the grinding paste!

Hello again Mike. I find I don't use my impact driver very often, but when I do need it it works so well, and it doesn't need any power. Take Care Jim

Hi Jim, hope you're well. Really interesting instructional video all about the humble manual impact driver and its design and function. It's sometimes the simple things that get the job done. How about a video on the Yankee screwdriver? I recently acquired a couple of hex bit adaptors for my two yankees making them a bit more flexible now. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and keep up the good work.

Hello @peem1244. Thank you for your comment. I think your suggestion of Yankee screwdriver is good. I inherited one from my Dad, I’ll have to dig it out, give it a closer look, thanks again. Take care Jim

what to do when the bit gets stuck in the driver?
@CYC1235 ай бұрын
Hello Torjie. If your bit gets stuck in the end of the driver then do this. Strike the side of the bit with some thing light and hard, a screw driver shaft or a spanner, or a small hammer, work round the out side of the bit. If the bit still wont come out then hold the adaptor of the screwdriver in the vice then repeat what I said above. That should free the most stuck bits. Thank you for your comment. Take Care Jim
