Regenerative Agricultural Alliance, Inc has a sketch that shows how root regrowth is affected by various levels of grazing pressure. A few of the ribs are showing on your cows. Perhaps they are the ones producing more milk that the plumper cows. Gabe Brown, Allen Williams, and the other Understanding Ag folks preach knowing your context and doing what is needed to make the best use of one's resources.

I think what’s really important is that you’re out there : learning the names of the plants, watching what the cows like, how they move. And you’re doing a lot of reading, watching , learning elsewhere. You’re really interested in your soil health and your animal’s health - that’s how you make it profitable

I met a gentleman the other day who does this and he said this is why they call it "adaptive" grazing. You have to adapt it to what your needs are.

When using biomas to improve soil as in a green manure you need to get it down into the sub soil to break down and feed the microbes. I strip graze harder than this and when paddock is finished I chain harrow and aerate before rain. All that broken up manure gets washed down into the slits feeding the soil. Great pasture recovery, worm and microbe life.

please go slow when moving the camera... referring to the 4 to 5 min mark... getting dizzy trying to focus... ty! also, what shape of grazing cell do you think would be ideal... rectangle, square, pie slice?

I know right!? I apologize. I noticed it when I watched the video while editing. I’ll have to be disciplined to move slowly. On the grazing cell shape, I’ve done all. It really depends on what your goals are. In a square they will graze more and walk less than a rectangle so maybe not quite as much trampled forage m Long rectangle causes them to walk back and forth. Lots of trample Pie shape is good if you have a water point in the center to stay anchored to for each move. I’d say they all have their place based on your goal. Not everybodies life allows them to do things the same way. Looks to me like your figuring out a way that works for you,your cattle and your Property. While watching others can be good for learning and getting ideas, everybody will need to figure out how to take that knowledge and adapt it to their circumstances and needs.
