I grew up in Provo in the 70s, my family has been in Utah since it became a state. We have pictures of my grandfather shoveling snow over his head in Spring City but that was long ago. I remember skiing at Snowbird in the 70s and 80s and the snow was piled higher than our buses every year. This snow is desperately needed, can't wait for the runoff to see which reservoirs come up.

Yes I am aware of it you have to understand that El ninos and lenina can change moisture Cycles can s*** the moisture patterns. Earth is also overheating and that's increasing the evaporation rate not only the world's oceans but also land-based moisture. Climate change can also increase the amount of snow pack in one single storm. The city south of Buffalo New York got 81 inches of snow in one single storm this past winter

Doesn't it not all drain to the Salt Lake naturally, just curious?
@sinatrabone

Yes - in a way. In the valleys, it’s gets there pretty easily. But on the mountains where it really piles up, it drains into reservoirs first, which then are released through dams at the rates that the state agency decides on each year. They try to keep enough back for agriculture and residential/commercial use while still keeping things flowing. A lot of local environmental scientists this year are asking them to let it flow quicker than normal this year to help with the lake, but we’ll see what they do. They also have to go slow enough to prevent flooding, of course.

Iresearch anthropocene climate change planet Earth is actually overheating the Arctic is warming up three to five times faster than the rest of the planet. But I'm sure you know that because the weekly or monthly reports of ice loss in the Arctic and antarctic ice sheet. Humans are hundred percent responsible for climate change. Humans are burning call oil and natural gas and carbon dioxide is a byproduct of those three fossil fuels. Every year at thirty-seven billion tons of carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere and will stay in the atmosphere between 300 to 1000 years. Humans are deforesting the planet that Force absorb carbon dioxide and trap the carbon dioxide in the roots and in the soil. Since 1970 half of the world's Forest has been deforested. It's all due to global overpopulation and overconsumption

Yeah and yet here in Kearns the roads are barely plowed.. on day two. But don't worry because our state just wasted 2.8 billion dollars to put little blinky signs up to remind idiots not to drive the wrong way on the highway after they've already driven past three other indicators that they are going the wrong way but hey it's just our money.
