Impact of Turkish Aggression on Syrians | Waqas Sheikh and Usman Qazi

Protracted conflicts are a distinctly human trait. It makes sense then that the “cradle of civilization” witnesses protracted conflicts in excess. One such conflict continues in Syria. Even though the war has subsided, Syria continues to grapple with internal and external clashes. Of these, the ones orchestrated by Turkish forces have an extremely pronounced impact on the availability of basic services like electricity, water, fuel thereby as these attacks target civilian infrastructure. Turkey’s unabated and unchecked warfare and excesses against ordinary Syrians is a horrendous war crime. And it continues because the world turns its eyes away from this atrocity.
This session is an ordinary humanitarian’s attempt to bring such barbarism to light.
About the Speaker:
Waqas Sheikh is working in North East Syria with Un Ponte Per (UPP) as Head of Programmes. He is a management professional with over 18 years of development sector experience in varying humanitarian contexts including Pakistan, Papua New Guinea and Laos PDR. Waqas is specialized in health systems strengthening and strategic management.
About the Discussant:
Usman Qazi is a highly skilled sustainable development, post-crisis recovery and humanitarian response professional with 30 years of progressively responsible experience across a score of countries. He is conversant in English, Arabic, Pashto, Farsi, Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi and can make do in Birahui, Bangla and Balochi. Usman is passionate about promoting the Humanitarian-Development-Peacebuilding (HDP) Nexus, institutional strengthening, capacity development and training. He enjoys poetry, literature and art.

Sir,non-arabs embraced islam and the consequences are visible to date. Even members of Arab League except those belonging to Arab peninsula are non-arabs. Islam's basic concepts are rooted in division and violence and even muslims among themselves can not be free from division and violence. Syria is a good example where Syrians, Iran, turkey,kurds,Iraq, gcc states are at loggerheads.

For a minute I thought you were taking about Pakistan and its future..God forbid. This is a legacy of colonization English and French. Iraq majority shea country had a Sunni ruler and Syria being a majority sunni country ruled by shea sect. Now a days super powers prefer to fight through proxies. Lebanon was barely surviving and now 3 major countries in the Middle East have been taken out in the past 20 years. Syria, Iraq and Libya. And we all know what elements are behind this adventurism. Your thumb nail is pretty misleading and biased. Turkey has to defend its borders and I am no fan of Erdogan.
