Until I started studying for this exam, I had no idea that these printers were still being used anywhere. The last one I used was the Apple Image Writer II, on my Dad's Macintosh 512K when I was younger.

Why are you using the word print pins terminology vs the printwires?

The description of the impact printer head components are most commonly referenced as pins, such as the 9-pin or 24-pin dot matrix print heads. It's also acceptable to call them wires, although it's not as common a reference.

@@professormesser maybe I'm using the wrong term but one of those olden keyboards - they're heavy, input one letter at a time onto paper, and you may have to readjust paper as you type for it to realign.

Bring back Impact printers! laser printers are too dangerous. they use lasers for Pete sake!
