Well my first thought was, Wow, that’s so amazing”. I think it takes a lot of courage to take on these types of challenges. It is like many of us have thought about these scenarios but you take the leap and bring those ideas and concepts to life, that is something I really admire. I cannot wait for your next adventure. PS please sample it 😎

Imagine a parallel universe where all the pianos have a steel hummers, and one guy makes a wooden hummers modification of a piano, that everyone around describe as a unique and incredible sound, then they make a kontakt library for it, and it sounds like an ordinary piano in our universe.

I was thinking about the harp as I was listening. Of course there are differences, like when hit the lower range with strong dinamics. Thanks for the review. Very interesting.
@PraiseTracks
@PraiseTracks 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is hard to pin down exactly what you are hearing. Another viewer mentioned the sound of a dulcimer, but I also hear some harp similarities due to how the strings are excited by the hammers. That low end, is extremely dynamic which I find interesting as well. Thanks so much for watching and the kind encouragement. All the best.

This seems like something that would be a great asset for movie sound design to mess around with playing chopsticks or some Scott Joplin.
@PraiseTracks

Yeah, that is the crazy things about his instrument, it has such a unique signature. When you pair it with the sound design elements and processing it only takes off even further from there. I am hoping that Impact Soundworks do more of these types of collaborations. Thanks so much for watching.

Yes, I have watched several of his "experimental" piano deconstructions but this one really grabbed my attention as it was a really viable possibility to play it effectively. It is a truly fascinating concept, the sound is definitely hard to describe but also the piano that was sampled is equally so interesting, and only that could have produced this sound, I am hoping that more collaborations like this are in the works. I was just about to say. It's like those extra bright JD sampled pianos that give the dedicated reverb and chorus sections a lot of high end to work with, but sampled in the modern age.

@apreviousseagle836 3 жыл бұрын
@@The_Mister_E OMG yes that is a great way to look at it. That's exactly what I was thinking, worded in a different way. It sounds like the high end of the JV Pianos (maybe even the M1 Piano) but with the body of a Yamaha Motif, or Korg SG-1 Piano. Now if someone took a Steinway and put real hammers on it, lol

Full disclosure, neither do I 😂 Seriously though, the majority of what you hear are improvisations that pull from years of listening to everything from the hymns, to Bugs Bunny, jazz standards, classical music, movie soundtracks, even Sherlock. Those fragments have a crazy way of getting reassembled when they are triggered by the right instrument. Thanks so much for watching, I appreciate it.

Well, it is an improvisation based on that theme, then it just goes crazy from there. Something about the way the Hammer Klavier sounds in relation to the tonality of those themes. You can also hear a similar tone with Hans Zimmer’s Sherlock movie scores. Thanks so much for watching.

Yasunori Mitsuda made the music with a full orchestra but as it would be used on a super nintendo console system, the full sound track in its glory is rarely herd.
