TY. Got the Mack impact driver my Dad gave me to work. Just followed you on this video. Disassembled- clean- oiled/ reassembled and worked better than when I received it- a decade ago!
@seanm92273 жыл бұрын
I have the same gun purchased in 1992. I worked at two shops so needed a second gun. It’s not very powerful compared to MAC/IR guns (400 ft/lb vs 625 ft/lb from my MAC AW434) but usually got the job done. I’d borrow a stronger gun when I needed it. I just used it for the first time in over 25 years and it worked fine. I’m surprised your boot is still soft, they tend to harden over time. Mine hardened up so bad I had to cut it off with a knife. Great video, thanks.

Thank you so much again RJ! You saved my Craftsman 875.199870! Was undoing some really tight lug nuts and the thing stopped hammering. Thanks to your video I got it apart and it works now!

I Watched the Video, then went out to the workshop and tore apart my Lowe's Cobalt 1/2" Impact wrench. Followed the instructions, Minus the cleaning which you did not touch on how-to. Improvised and used Acetone to clean and oiled liberally, and off I went. Works good Now, It was absolutely useless to me before hand. Thanks

I just cleaned the parts. Degreaser. Or maybe hot water and dish soap. Maybe mineral spirits. I can't remember.

Very interesting. I think I'll just leave mine alone. You make it look easy, but I never did well on mechanical aptitude tests. In fact, I never did well on any mental aptitude tests. It's why I went into the Marines. Stupid, winding up in a line company in Vietnam. But I survived and can afford an air impact wrench. And if mine fails, I can just go get another! Thanks for your great video!

I used kzbin.infoUgkx4ynqaujg7rZKFapA8s29kTpRszJGa3-K this for the first time today to replace the front wheel bearing on my rwd 98 dodge dakota. This had absolutely no issue removing or reinstalling the lug nuts and it took off the axle nut without any struggle. Sounds like it's got some muscle to it. Time will tell

I looked in the manual for my CP734 air gun which says to use 22ml of SAE 30 in the hammer/clutch cavity. I see that you dumped out the excess after filling. Did you find this procedure in a service manual? Mine says nothing about this. Just want to be sure of the proper procedure. Thanks!

Hi, you took apart everything except where the air goes In - Can you please show how to rebuilt that part and how it works. Pls. I got one 3/4 where when you hook up the air it runs free without pressing trigger-reverse and forward- thanks-
@FFVoyager9 жыл бұрын
Not seen inside one of them before, thanks for that. As an aside I used an electric impact wrench to get the stuck fixed cup out of a 45 year old Raleigh Moulton Mk3 frame (with a suitable large bolt affair). The Raleigh cup is pretty hard to remove even if you have the correct too - and an impact wrench makes it even easier than using a long braker bar!
@RJTheBikeGuy9 жыл бұрын
The turbine part is similar in most wrenches I think. The hammer part in this wrench is a little different. I have used an impact wrench for removing fixed cups too.

I bet filming the disassembly came in handy when reassembling. I like to take things apart, but never videoed the process. Might have saved me hours.

After following your instructions I got the wrench back in shape. However, it's losing a lot of air at the trigger, could you share advice on how to replace the trigger gaskets?
@RJTheBikeGuy5 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I don't have an answer for that.
@babyasiah97005 жыл бұрын
Humberto Gómez in ur wrench at the bottom is a little ball that is helping the air get through and a little spring so watch out when u take it apart. Check if the rubber ring underneath the spring and ball is okay. Then check if ur iron pin behind ur trigger isn’t broken. Also what I had is that the ball was stuck in the spring while it should sit in the wrench seperately.

I have a craftsman 875.199870 and its over 20 years old and as long as you oil it will last a long time. I am a disabled vet spent 7 years in the NAVY on submarines wanted to do 30 but alas a stupid chain broke and it hit me crushing my spine So I am in a wheelchair, I do not use it every day but if I was like I used them before the NAVY I was a mechanic with my dad who was one over 50 years. he used almost all craftsman. To bad now their tools are made in China. But I like craftsman impact tools as even my 20-year-old one I can get parts for it.

I have a brand new GMC air impact gun that has never worked since I bought it. I bought a kit that had a chisel impact gun and 1/2 inch wrench and drill all as a kit. I purchaced it because i needed the chisel for some work.. I did not worry to much about the impact gun too much as being brand new I though that there can only be a small problem that i could fix at some stage. Rather than mess about sending the whole lot back which are the directions i could fix this myself, but thought before doing so i would have a look on the internet to see if any one had ever come across one of these that did not rotate from start, and why it did not start.

@RJTheBikeGuy9 жыл бұрын
Dominik K. Impact sockets are designed to be used in impact wrenches. The are heavier. Regular sockets are lighter and hardened, and can potentially SHATTER explosively when used in an impact wrench.

Nobody cares, but technically you want the ND30 flavor of SAE30 rather than the HD30 kind. I think the detergent in HD attacks the o-rings and seals or something.
