Thank you for you video!! I am 28 years old and I am currently going through the same process as well. It has been 5 months and my permanent canine is coming down beautifully! Praise God! I have uploaded videos on my KZbin channel sharing my experience to encourage others as well! ☺

I have this exact issue and like someone on here asked, I was wondering if I could just leave it be and not extract it before getting braces, I made a request to join the group so hoping I can get some extra opinions :)

Now 40 amd my orthodontist round here didn't want to do anything. BBy teeth just finally fell out. Bith sides were impacted one side coming in roof of mouth and twisting my second tooth. Other side is stuck. Mine were sitting the same way but on the roof. If it isn't causing pain leave them alone. I have been told. Now it's gonna cost even more money seems everything has gone up. 😭

I have the same exact position of those two canines. And actually planning to get braces. But i never know that it would cause that much time to bring out the canines😳😳

Likely not possible but can try

I have the same case. Can we get braces without removing these canines and fill the gap with 1st premolar.?
@Straightsmilesolutions4 жыл бұрын
You'd want to take a CBCT to ensure no collisions and it really depends on the bite. If the patient was slight class 2 with overjet, maybe

@@Straightsmilesolutions so would you recommend removing the canines before putting on braces in the cases like above ones? Or instead removing canines then putting on braces to correct smile?
@Straightsmilesolutions4 жыл бұрын
@@phoenix_world959 , I usually defer to the oral surgeon who takes a CBCT and makes that call for me.

Where can i post my x-ray to get a second opinion on my teeth being extracted?
@Straightsmilesolutions4 жыл бұрын
We only help with orthodontic questions, Brandon so if this is about orthodontic extractions you are welcome to post but in order for our forum to give the best feedback we do need as much information as possible. This includes, photos (intra oral and extra oral but no eyes) and xrays. This isn't a substitute for a "hands-on" exam though at your doctor where they are checking for so many more things than we can do virtually but perhaps it gives you some peace of mind through community.

My son is 12yrs old and have an impacted canine tooth#6 (in palate and horizontal). We had the oral surgeon attached the gold chain but after almost 6month my son's orthodent showed an x-ray that the chain is detached and there has been (after six months) no move. She suggests we extract the tooth. The tooth is horizontal and in the palate right under the nose. I am not sure why the gold chain is detached though. And I am not sure if we should stop trying again and just remove the tooth which means we should implant a new tooth. I appreciate your recommendation doctor. Thanks!

That can happen but to be honest your doctor should have caught this 5 months ago👎I'd get a 2nd and 3rd opinion from local orthodontists

We need to know how did you manage this case and how did things go with you. Did the canines get down to their places or you shifted to their removal and implanting synthetic canines instead?
@Straightsmilesolutions4 жыл бұрын
THese canines are usually only extracted if symptomatic. Probably best to consult an ENT or OMFS. Not possible to expose. They are in the palate. Yes can do implants and/or possibly just close the space if there is overjet.

I have this exact problem! What’s the best solution for me? Get them extracted and get implants or pull them down?:( getting braces in a couple months!

My issue now except like the picture my canine are touching each other 🥺 so I’ll either have to remove them as long as removing doesn’t cause issue and they can close everything up with braces or see if I can get implants 😞 and they will put braces on around the implants

I was about 11.5 when it was discovered about my impacted canines. I am guessing they were pretty bad. I recall the teeth were in the roots of my four front teeth. I had surgery to bring them down. The teeth were backwards. I was in braces for just over 2 years. It’s been nearly 20 years since they were removed. Teeth are still pretty straight.🙂

This looks like my teeth! My baby teeth were removed and with braces and a few exposures, one canine has come down into position. The other one is taking much longer! I’ve had braces for 5 years now!
