Yeah, some little helpers for idiomatic playing would be nice. I'm not expecting a riffer inside the plugin, but some new video tutorials or midi files would help a bit.

God I want this so badly…I just personally wish it could be tuned to Double Drop B. Granted there is a tuning option and the transpose option, but idk if those will affect the sound. I’ll still probably get this because it just sounds that awesome.
@Tremendouz14 күн бұрын
The Kontakt tuning knob works fine for C# to B since that's only -2 semitones, however that means all strings get tuned down so it's more like B standard than drop B. One option could be to use a separate instance just for the lowest string and tune that down.

3:34 - it sounds like samples have some siginificant noise, that left uncleaned. And such high gain is the main case for the Argent, so it's not good.
@robbiedozier284015 күн бұрын
are you talking about the string nosies? those are added for realism, they can be turned off
@ImpactSoundworksLLC15 күн бұрын
You can turn down the release noises! But also, in the example shown, I am using a very high gain patch with no gate. Just as with a real guitar, if you drive the gain up extremely high you will always get some line noise. Using a noise gate will help.
@fenih_the_cat15 күн бұрын
@@robbiedozier2840 I'm talking about noise during sustain, after attack and before release, when attack high harmonics decayed. It requires pretty good headphones to be heard, but it is presented. This sort of noise is expected by nature - it's internal guitar noises, recording devices noises. Usually they drowns in strings sound, but it raises on palm muted very low strings under high gain.

You guys produce great products, but there are two things that bother me and both are related to control over the VSTI, will we be able to make octave chords ? and will we have total control over where the notes are played ?
@antonm_15 күн бұрын
It has always been a shortcoming of VST guitars, not just Shreddage. In those cases, you're better off using the "MIDI Guitar Mode". It is a switch/toggle found under the "Advanced" tab. Enabling this, allows you to use a MIDI note's channel data to assign it to play on a specific string (as long as it makes sense). So for instance with "octave chords", let's say you want to play a G octave from the 5th string 10th fret, you'll have to write a G3 (55) on Channel 5, and a G4 (67) on Channel 3. The channel numbers correspond to the string numbers. One thing to note is that the "MIDI Guitar Mode" toggle is NOT automatable; so you can't just turn it on for a certain passage then turn it off again. It is either ON or OFF for an instance of an instrument. So either you program with the fretboard in mind (ala Guitar Pro) assigning the channels with full control of note placement, or have the feature OFF and let Shreddage decide the voicings and note placements. If you want it on just certain parts, I would recommend just having a separate instance with the "MIDI Guitar Mode" feature ON and place your programmed octave chords there.
@IanDorschComposer15 күн бұрын
It's not total control, but there is a knob in the UI to force hand position (ie fret 1, fret 2, etc), which can get you into the right place more often than not. Any note lower than the assigned fret will bypass the hand position control, so you can have your rhythm guitars dialed at fret position 10-12 to keep the high notes on the chunkier low strings, and the lowest notes will still sound on their default strings. For my demo I assigned a CC to it so I could work it in real time. This obviously has a little more utility for single-note lines vs chordal stuff, but it does help a huge amount towards making it sound more authentic.
@GazzaniSilva15 күн бұрын
@@IanDorschComposer My constructive criticism/question is precisely about knowing these parameters and the program not respecting them on several occasions, even when I use the correct articulations and respect the humanization (tuning and hamonic range) some things are practically impossible to do ( Even when they are possible in reality).
@GazzaniSilva15 күн бұрын
@@antonm_ thanks for the tip buddy, i'm aware of these features but it was supposed to be something simple and there's no reason for it to be complicated (i really like their products but these little things bother a lot when you need practicality) release after release these flaws still there, and I know a lot of people who are also very bothered by these things.
