"You've got to have the courage to cut members off..." Group members can't monopolize, but some group leaders insult their members by cutting them off or changing the subject on them. I hope they learn the difference between standing up to someone who monopolizes and walking all over their members. I notice that being cut off is a major complaint, i.e., "they're so enthralled with themselves..."

These two remind me of the adage...those that can't - teach. Those that can - lead. Dr. Jacobs indicated that he has been teaching since the 70's...when did he ever have any practical experience.

I don't know about his background, but I can speak for myself, I both teach at the college level and I am also a full-time high school counselor. So, who knows, he might have done that at some point in his life, and as long as he's keeping up with current research I don't see an issue with it.

@@erinmcmichael4165 My teachers both teach and counsel clients at the same time. I agree with you.

I've never had a counselling or clinical instructor who wasn't actively practicing as well. At many institutions, it's actually a requirement that they still practice on some level. No different than med schools, where faculty members also see patients and/or research.

Typical college professors... get to the point! Post the list in the video or in the description.

So say i suck. I make all the mistakes. What now? IS THE HOLY SPIRIT SUPPOSED TO GUIDE ME EVERYTIME?! I NEVER GOT ONE FUCKING CONCRETE ANSWER AS TO HOW TO CONDUCT A GROUP. EVERYTHING IS VAGUE.
