Impeccable at the Impeccable Pig!

Our first ever visit to The Impeccable Pig at Sedgefield in Co Durham. After hearing good reports, I had a recommendation to try their food menu from a subscriber who had stayed overnight and had a fabulous time. A quick check on TripAdvisor agreed with the amazing rooms but I was puzzled with the mixed food reviews, so I decided to take Mrs Metalman to lunch with me, to find out what the food was actually like - this is what I found.

Hi Alan, I love the name of the restaurant, 'The Impeccable Pig.' The place did indeed look very plush. I like a proper serviette, too. Great start with the bread and butter! The food was beautifully presented. Ooh, a good-sized portion of fish and chips. Everything looked so appealing, and I can imagine it tasted absolutely delicious. Wow, the bedrooms and baths look lovely, definitely worth a look. Prices seem very reasonable for the quality of restaurant, stacking up nicely to chain pub prices. Open plan kitchen too. Soft butter, thats a rare treat. Interesting to see the sausage pre cut! Nice presentation on the mains. Decent piece of chicken that, looks cooked to perfection. Great that you got to try both dishes! For me it’s always the heat of the dishes when I’m eating out, I get easily put off if anything comes out lukewarm, hopefully the custard was piping hot. Look forward to the upcoming room review. Strong 9/10. 👍

Very fair price for a lunch menu, which ensured a 3 course meal for me and the fish n chips Mrs Metalman got was huge, so big she could not eat it all (despite loving it), thankfully I was on hand to help her out :o). Our son had stopped there a few times and raved about the place and we enjoyed it so much, a perfect Christmas present for Mrs Metalman, more food and an overnight stay. Brilliant review again, Alan. Looks like an amazing place to stay. Now the food...personally as a cook. I would have had veg with that chicken dish. And new potatoes. Fish and chips looked great. I have never eaten venison so those sausages wouldnt have done for me. Great video my friend 😊❤

I think I have only had venison twice before but enjoyed it each time, a bit stronger than a traditional sausage but mixed with the slightly sweet tasting clapshot it was amazing, I really enjoyed it :o). Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan

They do have vegan food, although it is not suitable from anyone with a milk or egg allergies. It is a pain for veggie and vegans and Mrs Metalman is finding the same problem after being told she is celiac. On a positive note, we both loved it there, so much so, I booked an overnight stay on the Sunday before Christmas as a nice present for Mrs Metalman. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan

Yes, it was very nice there and great food too. They do a lunch time special which is £12 for one course, £17 for 2 courses and £22 for 3 courses, so real good value as well, so that is what we went for. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
