It's not just his drunkeness immunity too. At the time, she could have easily fought and defeated Naofumi if she wanted to, and they overlooked that fact. Naofumi was a fresh lv1 noob that can't even attack and she was already an adventurer at that point.

Remember at the first episode they found out they were each from an alternate reality of Japan? That's why the skill systems are all mashed together. But they all work, and Naofumi was the only guy to discover thst because he was actually willing to try something different. It's got nothing to do with belief. The stone glyph contained a spell buff which was left by the old heroes. A bit like little clues/help to the newer generations of heroes. Naofumi ate the fruit which is equal to 1 barrel of liquor. Think 500% alcohol content per fruit. The Wave DOES happen globally every month all across the globe. The 4 heroes only get summoned to the worst areas with the Wave Boss. Just like when Glass appeared. Fitoria has been the one that basically patrols around the world defeating the rest of the waves while Naofumi deals with the Wave Boss. That's why Fitoria is pissed at the Heroes for being useless. The Dragon Hourglass are basically like help areas for Heroes to access info wherever they go.

So the anime glosses over it, but that fruit scene you questioned is the final piece exonerating Naofumi of his accused crimes. The fruit shown is called the Ricolu fruit. They're grape like fruits that are used in this world to make potent alcohols. Just 1 fruit in a barrel of water produces an alcohol strong enough for most drinkers, and anyone who eats the fruit straight up is usually guarenteed alcohol poisoning. Of course this proves to almost anyone that Naofumi couldn't have even gotten drunk enough to have had a misunderstood action in the first episode.

The whole thing thing about the totem pole scene is that it's a spell created by the old heroes. Only naofumi can read it since he did learn how to from scratch. The other three didn't know how to so they cant read it and use it. The spell basically boosts the targets abilities

That spell is also written in magic letters that rearrange themselves depending on your magical affinity. Naofumi has support magic, so he got a support spell. It's possible the other heroes might get different spells or just gibberish, but they don't know how to read so we have no idea.

The fact that there are different hourglasses, with waves occurring at different times are why all the various extra skills the other heroes unlocked are so important. So they can rapidly level up, create equipment, and travel to the different hourglasses to monitor when the next wave with arrive as individuals and respond to the waves as a unit.

Hey guys, love the videos. This is one of my fav series. This is a REALLY long post but its one of my fav scenes in the books and I'm kinda sad they cut it off. One of the few things they changed from the light novel in the show was that, during the event, the queen suggested all the heroes trade companions (Naofumi's party would help Ren and vice versa, along with the spear and bow hero) to try and share information on how best to level up as a party as opposed to as an individual. (It was an idea originally proposed by trash to try and figure out why Naofumi's party was so strong compared to the other heroes, but the queen thought it would have some merit). You found out some character development about the other heroes. Motoyasu only had women in his party, and refused to let them fight. B***h was a defacto leader who kicked out anyone Motoyasu got too close with. All the girls that stayed were just girls who thought it convenient that they got hero party status with no actual work (Naofumi found a sort of friend because one was straight up with him). Ren's party had no coordination as you found out Ren never trained with them. He would always send them off to level grind while he went off somewhere else because he said they would only hold him back. When Ren was working with Raph and Filo, he would only criticize and because he didn't know how to effectivly work as a group, mistakes were made, for which he would blame Raph and Filo. Itsuki (and believe it or not, he's prob the worst hero BEFORE Motoyasu). You find out that Itsuki has a hero complex: he will only step in when his party member is in danger to feel like a hero, even sometimes avoiding shots to put someone in danger, simply to save them when there is trouble. He purposefully endangers Raph and she straight up leaves with Filo. While Naofumi is with Itsukis party, you find that all his members are like a cult, blindly following Itsuki and saying he is a hero, and anyone who even suggests he may have some faults (Naofumi did) is an enemy to them. They also treat new members like sh** and have a heirachy system within their group.

A lot of people have mistaken the new weapons for something Naofumi crafted. These are actually item drops. When the heroes put pieces of monsters into their weapons a new item will be added to their inventory. It's not always useful or interesting, but it sometimes is. The claws came from the dog boss and the sword from a rabbit they killed off screen. The penguin kigurumi came from the penguins. Levels are tied to your weapons. If you're level isn't high enough you wouldn't be able to lift it. If you're level is too high the weapon will wear out faster. Raphtalia's mana sword was still somewhat usable, but it started overheating. For the record there are four boss monsters on this archipelago and they keep respawning so they can be farmed. However the anime cut the rabbit and squirrel for time. PS: The crafting system has something of a time delay as it will take a little while to make said item if I remember correctly.

One thing I wished they added in from the web novel was when the heroes temporarily switched over parties. Basically the Queen wanted to encourage the heroes to work together and suggested that for a day to switch around there parties and review one another by the end of it. For the teams opinions on the heroes: All the teams but his hated Motoyasu finding him to be only interested in flirting with the women and showing off. They also hated Itsuki finding him to be an asshole who was stealing kills from other people from a distance which was against the rules of the event and was lying about his ability cool downs to make situations purposely harder to show off. Ren wasn’t considered bad from the other teams including Raphtalia and Filo, though they noticed he always preferred to work by himself and had the others work on there own. With Naofumi, Motoyasu’s team hated him with them trying to attack him behind his back multiple times especially from bitch, Itsuki’s team did not like him either still having there shield devil biases as they still suck up to Itsuki, Ren’s group were the only ones willingly to cooperate with Noafumi and worked well with him. For the heroes opinions on the teams: All the other heroes thought Itsuki’s party were assholes (except for one member, Rishia) They thought Motoyasu’s party was nothing more then a band of cheerleaders hardly doing anything else important. Motoyasu’s and Itsuki thought Ren’s party always remained distance from the other heroes to do there own thing other then Noafumi where they followed his lead. Ren and Itsuki weren’t fond of Raphtalia or Filo as they hardly would listen to them. Motoyasu was the only one to not object to them as while they still remind cold to him for good reasons he still acknowledged there strength and power. The event gave insight to some of the other heroes and how there teams would reflect off the heroes they are party members of which is disappointing they cut it out in the light novel and manga.

In the manga/Novel, it is mentioned that Naofumi has an extremely high tolerance to alcohol. Since he takes so long for him to get drunk, he just gave up and stopped drinking. It's also why he refused Myne's invitation on Ep1.

Naofumi’s shield grew to in skills not based on what Naofumi knew, but what his enemies knew. The guard dog shield, the phantom shield, curse shield, all of them, have been thing the shield thought were growing methods because unlike the other three heroes that had a system of growth, Naofumi didn’t have that. Now that he knows that faith or belief is tied to how the weapons grow, his shield can grow and level up faster than all other weapons, while having a strong, if not ample, base of power from other creatures whose knowledge it had devoured.

i have read the manga and if you do it goes much further than the anime, and you find out the woman who he gives the gem bracelet to her people have a connection to gems. Think like how dwarves are always depicted to having a connection to the earth/stone, and the craft of blacksmithing.

To be fair, the fast travel skill requires level 50 and only takes you to places you've been to before. Which is why they had to take a boat to the island. That and the event blocks normal teleport. The heroes are under powered in part because they took a week off from training to travel to another country for better weapons to steal, I mean copy. They also still refuse to believe in the other upgrade systems no matter how much Naofumi tries to convince them they're real.

Itsuki believes Naofumi has some shields that translate the written language and prevents sea sickness. Naofumi just put the time to learn how to read, but he is only able to read the language in Melromarc and would be out of luck if he went to anther country... unless they had signs written in multiple languages. That rock by the totem pole will also move it's characters around depending on your magic affinity and you can't read it unless you have the same time of affinity for the type of magic it teaches. It's possible that if the other heroes tried to read it, and if they knew how, they would learn different spells. Noafumi has healing and support magic, so it tough him how to cast buffs. Also he has never been motion sick or drunk in his live, something he mentioned in the first episode, which has nothing to do with the shield.

The anime left this out, but Itsuki thought Naofumi used a shield power to decipher the language that gave him the Aura spell from the totem statue. He refused to believe that Naofumi learned to read this world's language the old fashioned way and not through magic. In the LN, Naofumi tried to convince L'Arc and Therese that he was the Shield Hero by morphing his shield into different forms but that didn't convince them because they've fought imposters who'd pretended to be Naofumi before the Church of the Three Heroes had been disbanded.

Were those of us that do not know much about the blood sacrifice skill it doesn't just hit you with a significant damage to your HP it also causes a stat reduction of 30%. Next is mechanics of this world for the holy heroes or the Cardinal heroes think of it as the same concepts that we play in games every time you defeat a monster even a member of your party there are going to be dropped items like weapon crafting materials and so on but only the heroes can find weapons crafting materials and specifics like that also the SP that you all see on The shield hero screen that's an energy exclusive for heroes and their parties

If I remember right, in the light novel, Bow Hero was intentionally taking other people's kills even though there were rules against that. He was just an ass.
